NEW YORK (AP) — The king and queen of Sweden are headed to Harlem.
The Swedish government says King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will have lunch at the popular New York City restaurant Red Rooster with celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday morning the royal couple will tour the Castle Clinton National Monument, the country's first immigration center, in Battery Park.
The Swedish royalty are visiting the U.S. to celebrate the 375th anniversary of the arrival of the first Swedish and Finnish settlers to the country, who settled New Sweden in Wilmington, Delaware.
The king and queen will make stops in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to visit historical sites before arriving in Delaware Saturday.
