Immigrants now come to U.S. for the benefits

Re: "Future immigration could lower current immigrants' wages," June 12

As the Obama administration focuses on immigration to deflect from other controversies surrounding the president, Americans should reflect on how the role of immigration has changed.

America was built from a wilderness to the greatest country in the world. People who came here understood that it would take hard work, personal responsibility and many sacrifices to succeed.

But times have radically changed. Immigrants are not coming here to reap the benefits of the great giveaway. Vote Democrat, they are told, and you will be rewarded with free health care, Social Security and a lowering of the bar to ensure "equality" in job preferences.

That's the reason even legal immigration is a phenomena of the West. People only move to countries with open social systems and government benefits.

What is the real cost of this policy? Countries in Asia, South America and Eastern Europe are more than happy to allow immigration to the U.S. because it eliminates the cost of their unemployed populations, and they don't have to change the internal policies that created the need for it.

NSA has answer to questions about IRS

Re: "NSA debate pits far left, right against the middle," June 12

If anybody still doesn't understand why the IRS was investigating all those Tea Party organizations, why don't they just ask the NSA to read their emails?"

Orwell's 'Big Brother' is already here

Re: "Hard to trust the Great Divider in the White House," Editorial, June 10

I support an aggressive anti-terrorist agenda. However, the Obama administration has gone well beyond that with its dragnet of American citizens' communications. Its repeated attacks on the Constitution are staggering.

After 20 years in the military, including as many in the intelligence community working to support my country, I no longer recognize it. President Obama wanted to "fundamentally change America" and seems that he is trying to create a dictatorship via internal coup rather than improving it.

George Orwell's "Big Brother" police state appears to be on top of us. The abuses by the intelligence community and the IRS, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Obamacare, congressional recess appointments, unconstitutional illegal immigrant pardons and assaults on the First and Second Amendments lead me to believe this government is out of control.

Both houses of Congress need to wake up and do their jobs to stop this administration. It is not in the best interest of either party to allow this abuse of the Republic to continue.

Farewell to The Washington Examiner

June 14th will always be Flag Day and the U.S. Army's birthday. Now it will also be a day to remember the great Washington Examiner.

Thanks for covering it all.
