After becoming an official person of interest in a jewelry theft case, it was looking like Lindsay Lohan could wind up back at her home away from home -- jail.

Lindsay, 26, was at an all-night house party on Aug. 18 when $100,000 worth of watches, sunglasses and cash went missing.

The actress allegedly showed up to the party with her younger brother and two men. One of the men with her, also a suspect, refused to say who stole the items.

The homeowner -- a friend of Lindsay's -- told authorities that he didn't want to press charges against the "Liz & Dick" star. He even went as far as telling police that nothing was stolen days after he filed the police report.

Now, the D.A. has rejected the case against LiLo due to insufficient evidence.

"Lindsay is glad this matter has been cleared up so she can focus on her upcoming projects," her rep told E! News. "It is unfortunate that many media outlets were quick to point fingers and jump to conclusions without having all the facts."

Lindsay, however, is still on probation (through May 2014) for her 2011 theft of a $2,500 necklace.

Funny, but probably true

One person who seems to find this amusing is Lindsay's friend Lady Gaga.

When LiLo tweeted a photo of herself after hearing she was off the hook for theft, Gaga tweeted back, "@lindsaylohan ummmm are those my earrings??? this is awkward...:)"

Persona non grata

Speaking of awkward. Lindsay's former home, the Chateau Marmont hotel, has asked her not to return.

According to TMZ, the hotel management sent a letter to the starlet banning her for not paying her $46,350 bill.

The gossip site obtained an itemized bill. Here are some highlights:

» Minibar charges for the 47 days she lived there totaled $3,145. (The highest daily tab was $502 on July 1);

» Cigarettes: $686. She bought 49 packs in 47 days at $14 each;

» On July 4 alone, Lindsay racked up a $1,992 bill at the Chateau restaurant. On top of that, she spent $685 that day on room service.
