George Washington University Hospital changed the status of lobbyist Matt Mika from critical to serious Thursday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
Mika, who was shot multiple times while attending Republicans' congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Va., Wednesday morning, had been listed as in critical condition as recently as Thursday afternoon.
Mika is a lobbyist for Tyson Foods and previously worked as a staffer for two Michigan congressmen.
Three GOP congressmen — Reps. Kevin Brady of Texas, John Shimkus of Illinois and Erik Paulsen of Minnesota -- visited Mika in the hospital on Thursday morning.
"We know Steve is in stable condition. We just want to be there to lend him support," Brady said.
