DC home meal group expands service on Thanksgiving

WASHINGTON — A Washington group that provides home-delivered meals and groceries to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other illnesses is expanding its normal delivery for Thanksgiving.
Food & Friends plans to feed nearly 3,500 people on Thursday.
Staff and volunteers are preparing 8,400 pounds of turkey, 975 pounds of cornbread stuffing and 1,050 pounds of potatoes.
D.C. City Council members Muriel Bowser, Michael Brown and Harry Thomas Jr. plan to volunteer with the group Thursday morning.
