Takoma Park police are investigating the armed robbery of a local restaurant.

About 3:30 p.m. Saturday, three armed men entered the La Fonda Chiquita restaurant on the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue and demanded the money and belongings from everyone in the establishment.

One culprit forced an employee to open the cash drawer and then struck her with his firearm. One gunman fired a round into the air.

The culprits wore black jackets and jeans and did not attempt to hide their identities. They were described as Hispanic males ages 18 to 25. Anyone with information can call police at 301-270-1100.
