No charges after man's dogs kill his brother

A man will not be charged with a crime after his two pit bulls mauled the man's 20-year-old brother to death in his Leesburg home, police said Tuesday.

The two dogs will be euthanized, a Loudoun County Animal Control spokeswoman confirmed.

A medical examiner's report concluded that the pit bulls' teeth severed arteries in Carter Delaney's neck Monday. Police believe Delaney was protecting a smaller dog when he was attacked.

Man arrested in home break-in, abduction attempt

Fairfax County police have arrested a man they say broke into a house and held a girl down until she fought him off. Silvestre Lara-Bulana, 29, was charged with burglary and abduction. In the early morning of Aug. 3, a 14-year-old sleeping in an apartment on the 2000 block of Peach Orchard Drive awoke to find a man holding her arms down, police said. He fled when she screamed. Lara-Bulana was arrested Monday.

Police release video linked to woman's homicide

Detectives have released a video of a person whom they would like to talk to about the death of an Annandale woman. The video shows a dark Infiniti sport utility vehicle pulling up to the victim's driveway and a person exiting the passenger side and walking toward the victim's home and place of business. Chung A. Auh, 53, was found dead inside her home July 24. The video can be viewed at fairfaxcounty.gov/police/news-releases/2009/video/homicide.wmv.

Relatives accused of tying up, scaring girl

Three relatives of a 6-year-old southwest Virginia girl are accused of tying her up and surrounding her with rubber snakes and spiders, police said. The girl's grandmother, aunt and uncle have been charged with child abuse. Police said the relatives bound her ankles and wrists because she had taken food from the kitchen to her bedroom.
