Montgomery County police are investigating the rape of a housekeeper at a Motel 6 near Gaithersburg. Police said the woman was cleaning a room at the hotel Thursday morning when she heard the door slam and saw a man inside the room with her.
The man sexually assaulted her and fled. He was driving a green, four-door car.
Thieves seeking gold in homesPolice said burglars are going into homes during the day seeking gold.
The crew hit four Fairfax County homes on Tuesday: the 5300 block of Poplar Valley Court, the 12700 block of Lady Summerset Lane, the 9300 block of Cumbria Valley Drive, and the 8400 block of White Haven Circle.
The thieves are responsible for 20 thefts in Sully, Fair Oaks, Reston and West Springfield. The thieves have been described as two Hispanic or Middle Eastern men in their late 20s to early 30s and one Hispanic woman.
Parents plead for more info in missing Va. Tech studentThe parents of a Virginia Tech student missing since she went to a Metallica concert nearly two weeks ago are asking that people continue to share information with police.
Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, disappeared Oct. 17 after she left a concert and was denied re-entry. Police say she was last seen on a bridge that leads to a commercial area of Charlottesville.
Authorities have received several leads since they released a timeline of Harrington's movement Wednesday.
Teen arrested in attacksA 17-year-old Woodbridge boy has been charged with a sexual assault and a robbery earlier this month.
Fairfax County police said the teen groped a 17-year-old girl on Oct.14 and grabbed a 27-year-old woman and rummaged through her belongings. Both events occurred in the Mount Vernon area. The teenager was charged with sexual battery, attempted robbery and abduction with the intent to defile.
