This week’s Mainstream Media Scream features MSNBC's "Ed Show" host Ed Schultz claiming that the mainstream media wants Obamacare to fail.

From his show last week:

“Why is it that people in the media have a fascination with failure? They will take a number and they will make a negative story out of it,” he said.

“The mainstream media, I believe, wants Obamacare to fail. They look for every negative number they can find. They’re afraid to do a positive story, because they’re afraid that somebody might not watch. The media is just cherry-picking the bad facts that are out there, repeating them over and over again, and in many cases, they’re making stuff up.”

Media Research Center Vice President of Research and Publications Brent Baker explains our pick: “Schultz is losing his marbles. The press corps spent 2009 and 2010 sycophantically promoting Obamacare and discrediting the very criticisms which are now coming true. Now, they can’t avoid the disastrous Obamacare rollout, and Schultz presumes they want it ‘to fail.’ No, they just have a better grasp of reality than Schultz. But I can assure him, the media elite yearn to swoon again for Obama.”

Rating: Five out of five screams.
