Our weekly look at the loudest screech from the mainstream media features last Friday’s Washington Post story about how residents of Washington, Oklahoma aren’t into hope and change three years after President Obama's election. Reporter Eli Saslow found “the same ‘In God We Trust’ posters still hang at the public high school, which serves the same pizza pockets on Mondays and throws the same Christmas party that is never called a holiday party, and where no extracurricular events are scheduled on Wednesdays or Sundays because those days are reserved for Church.”

Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains our pick this way: “The whole thing read like some kind of travelogue to a zoo with exotic animals from other continents. Saslow treated everyday Americans earning a living, taking care of their families and not embarrassed to hide their religious beliefs as an alien culture. And it certainly is to the Washington press corps.”

Rating: Two of five screams.
