Fairfax County firefighters discovered a man's body after they put out a fire near highways in the Fair Oaks area, officials said.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, firefighters found grass, brush, and several trees on fire near the eastbound ramp of Lee-Jackson Highway to the Fairfax County Parkway. The firefighters were quickly able to bring the flames under control, according to county fire and rescue officials.

After the fire was extinguished, a man's body was found near the fire's location. The man had not been identified as of Monday morning, officials said, and a medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of his death.

Fire investigators and police are investigating the incident.
