Convicted forger Angelo Armwood has been on the run for more than four years now, living the high life and taking advantage of those who befriend him, authorities say.
Armwood, 46, is wanted on three separate warrants from Maryland to New Jersey. He is well-traveled, with ties all over the country and a handful of aliases to make him difficult to track.
But the fugitive is 6-foot-3, 210 pounds and has a distinctive tattoo that marshals officials said makes him more identifiable. On his arm is a tattoo that reads, "Smile Now, Cry Later."
Matt Burke, supervisory inspector for the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, calls the tattoo "prophetic."
"He's been 'smiling' on the run for a while now, like his tattoo indicates," Burke said. "Now it's time for the 'crying.' "
Armwood has ties to Waldorf and Baltimore, Northwest Washington, Newark, N.J., Brooklyn, N.Y., Springfield, Mass., and Little Rock, Ark. He has a history of forgery, fraud, violating conditions set by courts and supervising agencies and carjacking.
