Media Scream: Bob Schieffer mocks Sen. Tom Cotton's Iran move

This week's Mainstream Media Scream features CBS "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer's interview with Iran letter writer Sen. Tom Cotton and his slap at the Arkansas lawmaker's direct outreach to Iran during the Washington-Tehran nuclear talks.

Schieffer to Cotton on Sunday's "Face the Nation": "Are you planning to contact any other of our other adversaries around the country? For example, are you planning to check with the North Koreans to make sure they know that any deal has to be approved by the Congress?"

Plus, "I just want to make sure, do you feel that you have not weakened the president's hand here and do you have any regrets about the way you went about this?"

Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains our pick: "How condescending. Would Schieffer ever treat a rising liberal political star which such contempt? Schieffer thinks the letter was a bad idea and didn't even try to avoid inserting his personal view into the interview, but he didn't need to mock Cotton."
