First lady Melania Trump expressed her condolences on Tuesday to the victims of an incident in New York in which at least six people were killed and another nine injured after a vehicle drove down a bicycle path in lower Manhattan.
"My heart breaks for #NYC today," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Thoughts & prayers as we monitor the situation."
The first lady is in New York City on Tuesday for meetings, according to CNN.
First daughter Ivanka Trump also took to social media to say she was thinking of those impacted by the incident, which CNN also reported appeared to be "a deliberate act."

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said White House chief of staff John Kelly had briefed President Trump and will keep him updated as the situation continues to develop.
