Metro added a new express bus and extended service for several existing routes Sunday as part of a $5 million push to improve its bus options.
The new A9 express bus will make limited stops from Livingston to McPherson Square along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Southeast. A-line buses have 14,000 riders every weekday, Metro officials said.
Metro also added Saturday service on Georgia Avenue for the 70 and 79 buses, more frequent service on the U Street-Garfield route for 90 and 92 buses and later weekday service on the G12 and G16 routes in Greenbelt, among other changes.
