Metro plans to keep its trains running an extra hour on Sunday for the much-hyped prime time Redskins game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The transit agency announced Monday that the Morgan Boulevard station closest to FedEx field will stay open late because the game was moved to a 8:20 p.m. start. All other Metro stations will close at their normal times, though riders from the game will be able to exit any station.

The extra hour - for which the Redskins will play -- means the last Blue Line train bound for Franconia-Springfield will leave the Morgan Boulevard station at 12:25 a.m., while the last train headed to Largo Town Center will depart there at 1:33 a.m. Normally the agency closes at midnight on Sundays.

The next day, New Year's Eve, the agency will also be staying open late to accommodate revelers. The last trains will leave two hours later than normal. Rail service on New Year's Day will then resume at 7 a.m. and run on a Sunday schedule.
