Michael Bloomberg's gun control group issues talking points for Thanksgiving dinner

Mayors Against Illegal Guns, the liberal gun control group bankrolled by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has sent out gun control talking points for supporters as they approach their friends and relatives.

"Everyone has friends and relatives with strong opinions and shaky facts," the email informs supporters. "You can help set the table straight — all you need is this simple guide to Talking Turkey about guns!"

The email features a Thanksgiving-themed graphic highlighting answers to refute arguments against gun control.

"This Thanksgiving, when talk around the table turns to politics and current events, you can help set the record straight on some of the most common myths about guns," the graphic reads.

Cruz changes position, embraces current ethanol mandate, ethanol lobby applauds

Sen. Ted Cruz in 2013 co-sponsored the "Renewable Fuel Standard Repeal Act," which would immediately repeal the ethanol mandate.

He has chastized those politicians who embrace the ethanol mandate when in Iowa and then speak about free enterprise elsewhere.

Yesterday in Iowa, Cruz said he would leave the ethanol mandate in place for now -- not touching it at all in his first term, and then letting it expire when the current mandate is (kind of) set to expire, in his theoretical second term.

"The RFS is scheduled to expire in 2022," Cruz said in Cherokee, Iowa. "When I said we should phase it out, I said it should be a 5-year phase out. A phase-out from 2017 to 2022 is a five-year phaseout.
