MSNBC co-host Mika Brzezinski accused President Trump of having a "fixation" with women that includes her.
"He has a fixation," Brzezinski said responding to Trump's tweets about her a day earlier. "He appears to have a fragile child-like ego that we've seen over and over again, especially with women. It's like he can't take it."
Trump tweeted Thursday that Brzezinski was "bleeding badly from a face-lift" when he saw her in Florida on New Year's Eve. But both Brzezinski and her fiance, co-host Joe Scarborough, said it was Trump who had invited them there, and that they didn't want to go.
Scarborough, added, "For some reason he was more interested in Mika being there than me."
Brzezinski said she knew Trump would be irked by her joke on Thursday about his decision to hang up fake Time Magazine covers with his picture on the cover at his golf resorts.
"I thought it was hilarious. I still do. I stand by my joke. I knew in realtime that the president would be tweaked by that, and I wondered, 'Oh, boy, I feel there's going to be a response,'" said Brzezinski.
Brzezinski also confirmed having had a minor facial procedure done while in Palm Beach, Fla., but did not confirm that Trump saw her "bleeding" face.
"We did not want to go to Mar-a-Lago. Donald kept calling Joe. Joe went, and he stayed for about 30 minutes. And then he's like, 'Where's Mika? He seemed to want me to go," she said. "It was amazing, and speaking of my face, speaking of my face, while we're there, I had my chin tweaked, the chin under my skin. Called Nicole and all my friends, had a lot of fun with it. I'm pretty transparent about what I do, and I think it looks awesome."
