Mike Huckabee said Thursday his daughter, deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, was defending Trump's "right to fight back," but not what he said in his tweets about "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski.

"She didn't defend what he said, just his right to fight back, which is what he did," Huckabee told Fox News' "Outnumbered". "I wouldn't recommend that he would do it that way every time."

Sanders had previously been on Fox News and defended Trump's tweets by saying that "I've seen far worse things come out of that show, directed not just at the president but at everyone around him" and that "the president isn't going to be someone who's bullied and allows people around him and himself to be personally attacked."

The hosts of the MSNBC show "Morning Joe" have questioned Trump's mental fitness and often criticized him on the show.

Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning to complain about the show's hosts "low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe" and said that they appeared at his Mar-a-Lago resort around New Year's Eve and Brzezinski "was bleeding badly from a face-lift."
