Montgomery County detectives are searching for a woman who was in an automobile collision in North Carolina days before she was reported missing.

Brinne Evangeline Olson was last seen on Nov. 3 at her home on the 13100 block of Hutchinson Way in Silver Spring, according to police. Family members reported her missing on Nov. 7 out of concern for her emotional well-being, police said.

A retroactive check of alerts about Olson's vehicle revealed she was in a collision in New Burn, N.C., on Nov. 5, according to police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Innocenti.

Had Olson, 29, been reported missing earlier, officers at the scene of the collision in New Burn would have been alerted that she was a missing person. Instead, her whereabouts remain unknown, and it's unclear whether she's still in North Carolina.

Police said Olson is a native of North Carolina and moved to Silver Spring a short while ago.

"It's not unusual that she would go back since she's from there, and recently moved," Innocenti said.

Police are still looking for Olson, described as a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 to 140 pounds. She has blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about Olson's whereabouts is asked to contact Montgomery County police at 240-772-5530.
