Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday evening named the eight Senate Republicans who will serve on the conference committee on tax reform legislation.

"Now that the Senate has voted to join our House colleagues in a conference committee, I’m confident that this distinguished group of senators will work to get the job done for the American people," the Kentucky senator said. "I know everyone is ready to finalize our tax reform legislation and send it to the president so he can sign it into law."

The conferees will be:

Orrin Hatch of Utah, chairman of the Finance Committee

Mike Enzi of Wyoming, chairman of the Budget Committee

Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the chairwoman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. In addition to overhauling taxes, the bill would open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for drilling.

John Cornyn of Texas

John Thune of South Dakota

Rob Portman of Ohio

Tim Scott of South Carolina

Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania

The conference committee will be headed by Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
