Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney accepted the apology of Melissa Harris-Perry on Sunday, a day after she apologized profusely on the air for using a photo of him and his grandchildren for a comedy segment.

"I recognize that people make mistakes and the folks at MSNBC made a big mistake and they've apologized for it, and that's all you can ask for," Romney said, adding that he was ready to move on from the issue.

Romney called the apology "heartfelt" and said that he held "no ill will whatsoever" against Harris-Perry.
