The Highway Trust Fund will be at the center of Capitol Hill this week as lawmakers look to find ways to replenish the fund before it runs dry. The fund is set to expire in August and lawmakers are looking at different ways to pay for the roads, bridges and mass transit projects the fund supports.

Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Sloan Gibson will appear before the House Veterans Affairs Committee this week to discuss the state of the department and the VA health care system. Gibson took over for Eric Shinseki earlier this year following a number of problems including revelations that 17 veterans had died while waiting for care in Phoenix.
