After his conformation hearing yesterday in front of the Senate Veterans' Affairs committee, Senate lawmakers will vote today to send Robert McDonald's name to the full Senate floor for debate. McDonald is President Obama's pick to oversee the Department of Veterans Affairs which finds itself in the middle of a host of issues.
This week marks the four-year anniversary of the Dodd-Frank Act which increased oversight of the nation's financial institutions. House lawmakers will examine the act today on Capitol Hill where it's expected Republicans will hammer the law for its shortcomings.
President Obama will be in California for the day highlighting a host of Democratic fundraisers to help the party's chances in this year's midterm elections. Obama will remain overnight in California.
