On ‘Morning Joe’ this morning, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski discussed Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to hold a special election in New Jersey to replace Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J.

After guests on the program raised the financial cost of the special election, Scarborough agreed that it was troubling, suggesting that Christie could be acting “too clever by half.”

“You know, Mika, he’s obviously a good friend of ours, a good friend of yours, we need to call him and see what’s going on, because I don’t understand,” Scarborough said.

“I think it’s definitely worth talking about more,” Brzezinski agreed.
