VAIL, COLO. — The police chief in Vail says one person has been killed and two injured in a shooting at a bar near the Colorado ski resort town.

Police Chief Dwight Henniger said Saturday night that authorities took one person into custody after the shooting at the Sandbar in West Vail.

Bar patron Nancy Lewis says she saw a man being escorted out of the bar and speaking incoherently. She says he then pulled out a gun and shot someone in the arm.

Other witnesses told the Vail Daily newspaper that the man fired several shots, then re-entered the bar and fired several more shots. Police received an emergency call at around 7:30 p.m.

Police haven't released the name of the shooting suspect and haven't named the victims.
