Matt Zimmerman, a longtime NBC News staffer who oversees guest bookings, was terminated from the network following allegations of "inappropriate conduct" with women, according to reports.

A spokesperson for NBC told the Hollywood Reporter and other outlets that Zimmerman had been let go following the accusations.

"We have recently learned that Matt Zimmerman engaged in inappropriate conduct with more than one woman at NBCU, which violated company policy," the statement said, referring to NBCUniversal. "As a result he has been dismissed."

The news about Zimmerman comes nearly two weeks after NBC and its cable arm MSNBC severed professional ties with journalist Mark Halperin after similar allegations surfaced from when he was a high-level staffer at CBS in the 1990s and into the early 2000s.
