The NFL will hold a moment of silence Monday night for the victims of the Las Vegas shooting before the Washington Redskins-Kansas City Chiefs game.

"The Commissioner has asked that there be an on-field moment of silence for Las Vegas before tonight's game," an NFL spokesperson told TMZ.

"This will be a moment of reflection for the victims, their families and loved ones and also for the heroic efforts of the first responders."

At least 58 people were killed and more than 500 injured as a gunman opened fire on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night.

The alleged gunman, Stephen Paddock, was found dead by police in his hotel room after the shooting.

The NFL has been embroiled in controversy as players have taken a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality.
