In yet another sign that money talks in the Obama administration, the president has nominated the current executive director of the Democratic National Committee and two campaign bundlers for plum new gigs as ambassadors to coveted countries.

Patrick Gaspard, the current executive director of the DNC and former political director for the Obama administration, was nominated to be the new ambassador to South Africa. Gaspard had previously come under fire for being previously connected to ACORN, the community organizing group that was accused of providing advice to undercover activists about running a prostitution ring.

Kirk Wagar, a disability insurance attorney in Miami, helped raise $500,000 for Obama's re-election in 2012. He has been nominated for ambassador to Singapore.

Alexa Wesner, founder and chair of an organization that encourages investment groups to participate in Get Out the Vote efforts in Texas, has been nominated as the ambassador to Austria. She also helped raise $500,000 for Obama's re-election by hosting a $38,500 a plate dinner in 2011.
