WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has committed to holding more than 18 fundraisers to help Democrats this year ahead of the midterm elections in November.

That's according to Democrats involved in the planning, who weren't authorized to discuss the events by name and demanded anonymity.

Obama will attend at least six fundraisers each for the campaign committees working to elect House and Senate Democrats. He'll also hold an event for the Democratic Governors Association, plus at least one event each for the House Majority PAC and the Senate Majority PAC.

Obama also has three fundraisers scheduled for the Democratic National Committee, with several more in the works.

Vice President Joe Biden and first lady Michelle Obama will also be raising money. Democrats in November are protecting a fragile majority in the Senate.
