Joy Behar: Schiff quotes the ‘Founding Fathers’ while Republicans have ‘Benedict Arnold’

The View co-host Joy Behar praised Rep. Adam Schiff’s performance on the first day of the House impeachment managers’ opening arguments while accusing Republicans of acting like traitors.

“This Saturday, they’re going to show on television the other side, and they’re gonna — the Trump lawyers are going to be speaking for like 12 hours at a time. I can’t wait to hear that one,” Behar said Thursday on the show. “I mean, Adam Schiff quoted a lot of the Founding Fathers. Who have they got besides Benedict Arnold from that era?”

The co-host went on to blast Sen. Rand Paul for doing a crossword puzzle during the trial and Sen. Lindsey Graham for using the bathroom frequently. A number of Republican senators were spotted missing from segments of Schiff’s presentation on Wednesday.

“Get off your butts, do your job, sit there, and listen. That’s the least you can do for the American people, Goddamnit,” she said before being bleeped out by the producers.

Behar, 77, is known for her outspoken and provocative comments. Earlier in the month, she praised white nationalist Richard Spencer for saying he no longer supported President Trump. She has also called for Trump to be charged with hate speech for criticizing Rep. Ilhan Omar.
