C-SPAN has replaced its campaign tour bus with a classed-up version just in time for the 2018 and 2020 elections and a first-ever 50-state capitals tour.

"This new vehicle starts with an incredible journey to all 50 states welcoming aboard students, teachers and the public with the latest technology to engage and educate," said C-SPAN Marketing Manager Heath Neiderer.

The bus hasn't been to the 50th state, Hawaii, in 20 years and will arrive there by boat. It will be the first visit to Alaska in 12 years. It is the 25th year for the C-SPAN bus program. Both stops occur in 2018.

Trip planners said the initial stop will be in the First State, at Dover, Del., Sept. 15th. Gov. John Carney is scheduled to be on the bus and will be the main guest on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" program that day, the first of hundreds of interviews to be done on the traveling TV studio and Washington classroom.
