Mr. President, Americans are not an 'angry mob'

Examiner Editorial
August 9, 2009

Joan Korman ,left, and Dawn Tabrizi, right, hold protest signs during a rally protesting government managed health care in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009. Democrats and the White House are claiming that the sometimes rowdy protests that have disrupted Democratic lawmakers' meetings and health care events around the country are largely orchestrated from afar by insurers, lobbyists, Republican Party activists and others. (AP Photo/Hans Pennink)

They aren't carrying swastikas, either, contrary to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's rant about the legions of worried citizens who have been standing up in multiple town halls and congressional forums to demand straight answers from their congressmen about what they are doing under the guise of "health-care reform." Pelosi's attempt to smear honest citizens as Nazis is only the most reprehensible manifestation of a White House-directed propaganda campaign to discredit anyone who disagrees with President Obama's health-care proposal. A growing list of major national surveys suggests that the people targeted by the campaign represent a clear majority of Americans, if not something very close to it. And they are being portrayed by some in their government as its enemy.

The Obama White House has established a health care reform snitch line and encouraged its supporters to turn in critics for allegedly spreading false information about Obamacare. In its effort to intimidate and silence dissenter, the administration is also working hand-in-hand with the Democratic congressional leadership, the Democratic National Committee, Organizing for America (formerly the 2008 Obama campaign committee), friendly journalists in the liberal media, tax-exempt supposedly non-partisan non-profits like AARP, and the AFL-CIO, SEIU, and other labor unions. This campaign is creating the spectacle of Democratic congressmen being shielded from constituents by squads of union goons.

We are witnessing something terribly ugly in America this summer. Obama is leading a campaign to shift our peaceful democratic process away from civil discussions of programs and candidates to using the power of the state to bully those who oppose the majority party's policy proposals. The threat may be as subtle as the fear of being reported by a neighborhood informant to the White House, or as overt as stick-wielding union toughs who might not approve of the way you ask your congressman a question.

During his campaign last year, the president famously told his supporters to "get in the faces" of those who disagreed with his vision for America. One of his Chicago mentors recalled in a 2007 New Republic profile that Obama, as a community organizer, was "the best student he ever had, a natural, the undisputed master of agitation" to gain political power. Sadly, now that he has it, he is turning it against those who oppose him.

Anti-Obama protesters aren't carrying swatstikas? You might want to look at these photos before you shoot your mouth off next time, because you're completely wrong. Pelosi was absolutely right.

Your first line is a lie. There are pictures. Multiple pictures and they are throwing around the memory of the Holocaust when we are talking about health care. These aren't "Real" Americans, they are deluded, angry people incapable of reasoned debate. About half of whom already have government subsidized health care. So what are they/you really angry about?

We must demand that whatever plan they come up with, every federal employee, including Congress, must be on it too. And no exceptions for Unions; same rules apply to them as for all Americans.

If it's such a good plan, they shouldn't object to this modest demand.

You might want to rethink that first line since there is visual evidence to the contrary

They aren't an angry mob? Then who are these people?

24ahead.com/tea-partiers-meet-rep-lloyd-doggett-grown-high-level-debate-

Note that this post and that video were both promoted by Instapundit, and it's difficult to find some from the general Tea Party movement who hasn't supported angry mobs chanting slogans just like ACORN. Meanwhile, the Tea Party types almost completely ignore a much better way to show how Obama and his allies are wrong:

Pelosi made it out like they were carrying swastikas in the manner that neo-nazis carry swastikas (which fits the current, idiotic DNC narrative much better).

How is it when ACORN, Code Pink, ANSWER, La Raza, Liberal Leftist college students shout down speakers, intimidate opponents, shut down streets, liken a sitting President to Hitler, it gets a complete pass from you Lefties, and in fact it's lauded as speaking "Truth to Power", but when conservative/libertarians do it, they are "incapable of reasoned debate", a "mob" of "unruly, paid protesters". You people are so hypocritical, I'm truly at a loss for words....

Does it scare you that regular Americans are no longer asleep?

Aug 7, 2009

Dana and Tim. Any reasonable person would take Nancy Pelosi's comments as implying that the protesters were promoting the swastika. It's clear from the link that they are anti-fascism. Technically, she was correct, but if she had said "they are carrying anti-fascism signs", I don't think anybody would have been upset. You are being intellectually dishonest.

Dan in Cape Canaveral

Aug 7, 2009

These people are carrying signs that use the swastikas in protest against government over reach. The same way many anti-war protesters carried signs with the swastikas with pictures of George Bush. Surely you are not suggesting that the anti-war protesters were Nazis. For Speaker Pelosi to make this insinuation about people protesting a major increase in the role of government in our lives is very ugly politics. She should enjoy her majority while it lasts, me thinks, it will end in 2010.

zipity

Aug 7, 2009

and when Libs do it it's "community organizing" when conservatives do it it's "rabble rousing". Obama says "get in their face", "we will punch back twice as hard". Incitement to violence anyone? You people have no idea what a sleeping giant you have awoken.....

G.

Aug 7, 2009

The above two posts are correct, there are pictures of folks carrying signs with swastikas and a poster of a face that looks like Der Fuhrer's. If one looks more closely, however, it is obvious that the Hitler face is a caricature of President Obama and the swastika sign says something like "Never Again!"

So while the two posts above are not incorrect, the signs are in protest against policies. They certainly are not being used by people identifying with Nazis or the Third Reich (which, I believe, is what Speaker Pelosi was attempting to allege).

This is very amusing. What's next, pointing out obvious typos to prove that those with whom we disagree are basely stupid?

Nancy Pelosi is a complete idiot. I am amazed she was elected. Harry Reid is worse than she is and should be tried for treason. Think about the other idiots obama has "hired" since he lied his way into the white house. "Our" Treasury Secretary in charge of the tax codes. What a choice there. What is even more hard to fathom is all the idiots who voted him in just because their leader wanted him. I wonder how many of obamas' imbecels have any idea what is in the health care package. He doesn't lnow. Just ask him a question that is say on page 3 of the package. He is not allowed to review notes. I'll bet he has no clue what the answer is. Way to go for all the idiots who voted for him. You deserve what you are going to get, but we don't deserve this because we were smart enough not to vote for him.

Jason - Thank you for clarifying the matter regarding swastika's/Pelosi for Dana & Tim - and hopefully many others who read these comments.
However, I am not surprised that they are being intellectually dishonest. Our politicians (on both sides) and the Left (as well as the Far Right - Actually I think the Far Left and Far Right are pretty much the same thing) have always been intellectually dishonest.
Who said - repeat a lie loud and often and it becomes the "truth"?
That is the mantra for all of these people.
We average Americans don't want an agenda - we want facts and careful consideration and open doors. We want to maintain our freedoms - not give them up to bureaucracy (a poorly run one at that).

Nixon hunkered down in the White House for two years; before his own party had Congressman Rodino, from New Jersey, go to the White House to tell Nixon he was going to be impeached. And, resigning would actually help him save face.

Jimmy Carter glued himself to his Oval Office chair, and only very reluctantly left the White House for Reagan's swearing in. Whenever the camera lingered on Carter during this event, he was near tears.

Obama won't cry, though. He's gonna count on racial warfare. But ya know what? Maybe he'll be even less effective that Martin Luther King, Jr., was when he sat in a jail in Selma, frustrated that southern blacks wouldn't rebel. (The riots, then, happened in NYC. And, Chicago. A bunch of Jews got beaten about their heads.) But MLK did get people to march together; black and white.

Then? OJ split the groups apart. So far? No apologies. Me? This too shall pass. Stay optimistic.

Aug 7, 2009

Obama may not realize it, but he's asking the minority to bully the overwhelming majority. The truth is: his plan stinks. There are much better solutions. He was embarrassingly unprepared for this whole venture. He presented the American people with a platter of pooh, and wanted them to eat. Sorry, buddy, ain't going to happen. Now, with these thug tactics, and the encouragement of brawls between citizens, he's reduced himself to the level of a Chicago Alderman...which is realistically where he belongs.

Britopia

Aug 7, 2009

I happened to walk by a protest rally in Columbus, OH last weekend, and I noticed a sign, featuring an image of Obama. The sign said: "Hitler Also Gave Great Speeches."

It's clear that the agitated right is using the language of the Third Reich to paint the current administration. The only conceivable purpose of this tactic is to foment and vent fear and rage, in a constant cycle. How can anyone remotely familiar with Nazi Germany think that this analogy makes any sense at all? You might ask Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod if they're planning to organize another Kristallnacht.

By all means, Republicans, fight for your point of view--just as the Dems fought against privatizing Social Security. But can you please make the argument on economic grounds, in terms of what you see as the common good? This inflammatory rhetoric just replaces thoughtful discussion with rage--on both sides of the equation.

@Jack: They *are* carrying swastikas. Clear as day. hence the initial statement of this article is a lie. Hard to take the rest seriously when it starts out that way. But of course, lying seems to be what republicans do best.

Aug 7, 2009

Britopia,

I'm curious if you see anything wrong about the Whitehouse encouraging people to report people who spread "fishy" information about health care reform? Is this a good precedent? Would this be ok in a Bush presidency, or in a future republican presidency? To have, perhaps, your dissenting comments reported to the whitehouse?

Holding signs with swastikas or images of Obama to look like Hitler is way over the top. Whatever point they are trying to make is lost by the fact that they look completely bonkers. And yes, a swastika is a very offensive symbol, even if it is not worn.

zipity

Aug 7, 2009

right coyote, as opposed the the Magic Lightworker Obama, who said he ultimately wants a single-payer system, and now denies it, who said NO increased taxes on 95% of Americans (while 60% already pay NO taxes) and now is talking about raising everybody's taxes... Democrats INVENTED lying....

Newsflash... dissent is STILL patriotic.

After all, isn't this what President Zero did as a "Community Organizer" back in that political cesspool known as Chicago? How many protests did he organize/lead?

It is interesting that the left seems to think that only they can practice dissent. Welcome to the real world.

The people who resist the dictates and the desires of "The Won" are described as "mobs?" Interesting. And perhaps the people who describe them as such are right.

It is often said that popular movies often demonstrate, in an allegorical way, common truths.

Have you seen the old movie Frankenstein starring Boris Karloff as the monster?

The lesson to be learned? Sometimes it takes a mob to kill a monster.

Are you also offended at the Dem Rep who called the tea party people at his town hall, brown shirts? He was doing what you say is wrong as well...

let me just add for the GOP readers that this is what Axelrasputin and Gibby did in our Dem primaries. They did very thuggish things, acted like brownshirts, thugging their way across the internet astroturfing pro Obama comments and cyberstalking Hillary supporters. When we noted comparisons to germany they said we were crazed old white women etc etc then 'waved' jpegs of wire hangars threatening us if we voted MAC.PALIN...
they are the ones who went to Germany and wanted to do a big speech like Hitler, they are the ones using Alinskys playbook, none of us care what you call us anymore, we are the majority, we are the working class, we are speaking to our own constituents.
these Obots got bused into caucuses and then they accuse of of being bused into healthcare rallies...
everyone sees what total hypocrisy is going on and you cannot have SEIU accompany us into the voting booth come 2010...

Aug 7, 2009

No, they are simply redefining the argument to their benefit. "Carrying swastika mob" has a very well defined historical meaning, which they dismiss instead going with a literal interpretation. Technically they are correct: those people are carrying swastikas. The left if great at making up labels and making them stick. So here we go... I grew up in the Soviet Union. Commies were very skillful at hanging labels on people since the early . Where do you think Alinky learned these tactics?

Democrats to rest of America: shut up and do what we tell you! We know what's best for you. We are your RULERS.
America to Democrats: NO! Stop ramming your hope and change down our throats. Send the Chicago thugs back to the windy city.

Conclusion: somebody will have to back down. It better be the Democrats or else they run the risk of bloodshed. They have started it already with thier union thugs beating up peaceful protesters. If you try to prevent us from protesting peacefully (and peacefully does NOT mean quietly or meekly) then you will force more towards feeling that stronger methods are needed. I have never seen so many people so angry and frustrated. I have never seen so many people making quiet plans for active resistance.

Hey DaveS, and others: You've repeatedly and incorrectly quoted Pelosi for your own purpose. She never said they were Neo-Nazis. That's O'Reilly's dishonest spin. The bottom line is that there are member of that group that are all too eager to trot out this disgusting comparison...instead of what should be a healthy debate over healthcare. Looking at those photos, it's hard to refute Pelosi and Sullivan's arguments.

Her direct quote: "They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."

The Democrats need to make as strong an argument as they can for government health care and let the discussion play out to whatever conclusion our democracy leads us. If they can't put forth a convincing argument then it should fail. Attempts to remove opposing voices through intimidation or misrepresentation will surely backfire and lead to far worse consequences.

Several of the Socialists of America websites list as members, among others, Nancy Pelosi, John Coniers, Maxine Waters, Harry Reid, etc. This is for real, and the websites, including member of our congress have been listed for years. This will go a long way in explaining why they are pushing a socialist/communist/marxist agenda. The website:http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng45.html talks a lot about Barrak Obama, and gives insight you won't see on any news network. This site:http://www.enterstageright.com/archive/articles/0709/0709dsp.htm

OK, let the idiot crowd weigh in. Because there are four people carrying posters making use of the nazi symbol (as an anti-obama statement, not as a pro-nazi statement), then all the protesters are Nazis, is that the logic? Too stupid to even go into. In fact, as all polls show, a majority of Americans DON'T WANT the Obama/Pelosi plan. It is clear that the new tack of both the Obama administration and of Congress is to "lay low." It seems that the practice of sending in union muscle to beat up protesters didn't go down so well and members of congress have no intention of putting themselves in the position to have to answer real questions.

So, they will hide in their offices, conduct "Townhall" meetings over the telephone from the safety of their offices and let the media either slander the American people or create the impression that it never even happened.

Some on the Right are comparing Obama and the Dems to nazis. IMO it's way ott, but I utterly reject the Left's criticism of it. After all we had a 24/7 diet for five years of the Left comparing Bush and Republicans to the nazis.

The Left's hypocrisy on this issue is staggering. I truly wonder if their just so stupid and fanatically ideological that they don't "get" their hypocrisy...or if they're just cynical liars playing partisan politics.

Doesn't matter though. Public support for Obamacare has tanked and it has NOTHING to do with misinformation from the Right. Obama has blown this issue. He and Pelosi.

JohnR

Aug 8, 2009

Oh, the irony. For 40 years we've had organized protest from the Left that stopped just short of physical violence:

1. Protesters screaming down guest speakers at university events. Too numerous to mention. Check out Youtube vids of David Horowitz and the Minutemen.
2. The 60s era anti-vietnam protests; those actually did get very violent.
3. Black hooded thugs smashing windows at the Dem convention and at other events.
4. Code pink; tactics designed to disrupt; not even a pretence of debate or respectful protest.
5. Endless...literally endless...comparison of Bush/Republicans to Hitler, nazis, fascists.

And now that the Left has TOTAL political power in this country, they have the unmitigated gall to define protesters (most of them apparently over 50 yrs old) as "nazis" and mobs.

Here's a news flash for the Leftist scum; Obamacare has failed because his plan stinks. Plain and simple.

Early on I couldn't understand why Obama hated that which made America unique the individual responsibility that has allowed so much individual freedom and prosperity in this country. Why he retained the heavy handed big government power grabs of Bush while making more of his own. Why he wanted to destroy America and remake it as some dystopian socialist nightmare. The only conclusion I can see is that "some men just want to watch the world burn" in his warped mind social justice can only be attained by bring the successful down rather than motivating the unsuccessful to do better.

John

Aug 8, 2009

Those protesting the Democrats health care proposals are not mobs, but it is clear they are angry. I also am angry at what I President Obama and Congressional Democrats are attempting to do. However, I am pleased that people who are against the health care reform legislation are getting politically active and speaking out. It is about time that people who are paying the taxes to fund our government are raising hell against the socialist policies being proposed.

Jeff

Aug 8, 2009

The fools who say Pelosi was being accurate are nuts. Those signs were clearly anti-nazi. The signs compared Obama's policies to those of the Nazis. Such signs (and many more of them) could be seen at any anti-Bush rally. Pelosi and the dem leadership didn't seem to mind that.

Jack

Aug 8, 2009

Those (few) signs by a few people, are simply "saying" that they fear the proposed Health Care "reform" bill smacks of the kinda fascistic Gov take-over that happened in Germany & Italy. BTW, it's (protected) political "free speech", whether one likes it or not.

The hypocrisy... is by the left, who never had a problem when the left did it, as John Leo states clearly here:

The bigger issue is that the President is getting involved in this fracas. Bush had the decency to ignore the wackos, but Obama is so insecure that he has to try to silence his critics! So the Democrats won, but I have yet to see any adult leadership on their part worthy of leading the great nation of America. And those signs? They are claiming that OBAMA is a Nazi, not they themselves. And the more I see of what this administration is trying to push, the more I'm starting to agree with them...

Pelosi was being intellectually dishonest; the protesters are clearly worried about the fascist turn taken by the government and Obama's abuse of power. But, this is no shock to any of us who learned about the man before the election, he is a self-absorbed thug who thinks he is above the common masses. He has no faith whatsoever in the republican form of government, let alone our form of government. Obama is a thug and has dastardly plans for our country. He is not a man to be trusted.

Outside of the game playing and the politics, both Republicans and Democrats are working to get reform. This above essay--nonsense. Reform will get done with or without the noise because both sides see a need. The Republicans want the health industry to remain profitable and the Democrats want to help cover more people.

'I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess'...

--The Democratic Congress took control in January of '07.

--The recession officially started 6 months later, in the fall of '07.

--Congress writes the budgets, enacts the legislation, and creates policy.

--The only balanced federal budgets in recent American history happened during a Republican Congress... '98-'01.

--Take some responsibility Mr. President and Democratic members of Congress. Stop creating problems and blaming others. Grow up.

Since Obama has been president:
- I got tax cut
- The markets are up
- America has regained respect in the world
- We just caught another top extremest in Pakistan
- The unemployment rate is failing
- The American Automobile industry might be save (thanks Clunkers)
- 2 major infrastructure project have created jobs in my city
- Racist that used to be in the closet are now very recognizable
- My daughter is now able to attend college through a few gov't grants
- People are back excited about the political process.

I didn't vote the guy, but if he keeps this up, I will the next time.

I feel that the democRATS are purposefully trying to fuel the anger and the violence and it will only get worse.
I don't know how they can say that senior citizens with homemade signs are a manufactured mob. Look at Acorn and other Obama supporters with printed signs and t-shirts, and tell me that this in not manufactured. These senior citizens do not get a paycheck for attending these meeting yet Acorn people and others are paid.
It is interesting to note that the first violence to send someone to a hospital was execuited by SEIU goons with printed t-shirts.
People should be aware that this is what obummer does, look what he did in Missouri during his campaign by setting up "truth squads".
I foresee martial law, media takeover and bloody riots in the streets.
God help us!

The Left used to paint Bush as Hitler reincarnated for eight straight years and spelled our country as Amerikkka and used all sorts of innuendo to paint the Right and Republicans as fascists. The Left can't even take eight months of Obama being called a fascist. If there was any lingering doubt as to who has the thicker skin, there shouldn't be any now. Maybe just maybe the Left should have thought long and hard about how they decided to portray Bush and his supporters for the chickens have indeed come home to roost.

Republicans create and attack straw men. This is their sickness. They are of the same mentality that gave rise to Nazism. They turn their lack of initiative into a sense of victimized grievance. In their broken psyches they cart their grandmother off to Medicare Hospitals...and then go scream at a town hall meeting to "keep the government outta of my healthcare." What healthcare reform are they for? What ideas do they support? Do they want medicare to go away (It's a govt program)? Are they raging because the budget deficit will potentially grow? Are they horrified that healthcare corporations bottom lines will shrink?

I hope you don't mind an Englishman making a comment.
You only have to look at what has happened in the UK since New Labour got in 12 years ago to see where America is now heading. Namely the greatest loss of civil liberties and privacy in our history;the attempted suppression of freedom of speech by accusing all those who do not toe the party line as being racist/extremists/etc; a country now totally in debt.
It is just a shame that the "unifying" platform of candidate Obama seems to habve just been a smokescreen to get elected.

-The CARS program is yet another example of government waste, bailing out people who bought expensive gas-guzzlers and now have buyer's remorse.
-Infrastructure projects have an end an don't positively affect long term employment statistics.
-Racists are very visible now. In fact, I was referred to as "the man" just the other day. That hasn't happened in a while.

They were NOT carrying Swastikas as if to support Fascism as Nancy Pelosi suggested. Look at the pictures again, they were protesting what they believe to be a socialist/fascist program, that being govt run health care.
Don't be stupid Tim. Don't allow your dear leader to drag you blindly along with him. Americans believe Obama to be middle of the road, I among them. Reply to Russ in NC: It's fascinating to see how un-American these all-Americans are. Russ talks about states having to secede from the Union. Texas Gov. Perry said the same thing. Sarah Palan and her husband belonged to the Alaska Independence Party, which wanted Alaska to secede from the USA.

What is it that you guys have against democracy? In November 2008 you LOST. In fact you lost overwhelmingly. So if your side doesn't win an election, you want to leave the country? What kind of patriotism is that?

The violence that is being fanned by Big Pharma and the for-profit hospital chains is undermining the country. The know-nothing people at these town halls spouting lines like "Take your government hands off my Medicare" are all too eager to hate their government.

It's hard to understand why people still don't get it. Obama is the man who sat it Rev Wright's church for 20 years nodding in agreement at the hate. Obama is the man who call the working class bitter, gun toting, bible thumping bigots, Obama is the man that sided with the Harvard Elite automatically assuming that the police in our country are stupid and racists. Why is it any surprise that Obama and Pelosi would employe the tactics of the big lie, the tactics of Hugo Chavez to vilify and denigrate anybody that stands in the way of their total exercise of power. That is what we are dealing with folks!

skeeterville

Aug 8, 2009

Valwayne, it's hard to understand why you don't get it. The previous president involved this country in two of the longest wars in US history (one of which was based on misinformation) and presided over the greatest economic downturn in generations. He did that with a Republican majority in both Houses. That's why YOUR side was voted out of the Senate, voted out of the House of Representatives, and voted out of the White House. Americans have seen what your side has to offer.

It's not surprising that your post is filled with references to black and brown people: Rev. Wright, the Harvard Elite (Prof. Gates), and Hugo Chavez. You obviously have a point of view. It just doesn't happen to be an American point of view.

I won't call you a "traitor" as An Coulter calls liberals or a "Nazi" as Rush calls most of America, but I will ask that you please consider your own views in light of an American system of government that allows for representation of ALL the people.

After drinking a potion of his own and Saul Alinsky's creation, Barack is transformed into the cruel, remorseless, evil Herr Hussein, representing the hidden side of Obama's dual nature brought to the fore. Barack has many friends and has a pleasing personality, but as Herr Hussein he becomes more and more dictatorial, encourages violence and becomes ever more fascist like as time goes by as Herr Hussein grows in dominance. Perhaps Obama can start in Illinois. Democrats have had a monopoly on all statewide offices since 2006, and all but 1 office since 2002. They control both houses of the General Assembly, too. Illinois has a $9-12 billion budget deficit depending on who you talk to. Maybe the Democrats should shut up and let someone fix the mess they created in Illinois.

KPO'M

Aug 9, 2009

Plus, Democratic governor Pat Quinn's solution to the budget crisis in Illinois was to slash spending on social programs (putting many not-for-profits out of business) and expand gambling. IOW, hurt the very people they claim to represent in order to score some temporary political points. If this is the modus operandi of the party in power nationally, I don't trust them to run national health care.

Ask your idiot democratic representative why they won't fix MEDICARE and Medicaid FIRST. Make them PROVE they can run these 2 programs FIRST before they go after 17% of our economy.

Simple common sense question. Demand an answer.

Why won't you fix THOSE 2 programs FIRST. PROVE YOURSELVES.

Until then, go away.

Since Obama and the dems are so ready to "tear down a house to fix a leak in a roof" then WHY won't they ADDRESS TORT REFORM? Hmmmmmmmmm?

85% of Drs admitted to "defensive" medicine, yet, the DEMOCRATS, who want to DISMANTLE everything, won't address this VERY terrible parasitic problem.

Oh, that's right, the TRIAL LAWYERS' ASSN OWNS THE DEMOCRATS.

Soooooooooooooooo, ask them, if you WON'T address THIS problem, what makes you think YOU have the RIGHT to touch ANYTHING then?

Huh? You have NO business touching a single item in this system if you won't fix THIS part.

Protecting the parasitic lawyers, but you'll tear down a system that the rest of us have.

Tell the democrats to shove it. Go back to the drawing board. Don't come back until you get it right.

If they had their act together and could answer questions about the specifics of the 3 plans on the table, maybe this would not have esculated. Unfortuately, sending mix messages, changing the definitions, deceptive statements vs the actual documentation and on and on, falls to the absolute failure of the President and Dems. Saul Alinsky's tactic of freezing, personalizing, and polarizing, your enemies doesn't work when the target this large. It can't be isolated either. Dolmance, you are evidently a leftist by stating that Americans that are fed up with big government and getting mad that their representatives are not hearing them but doing whatever they want, are a mob. Now, when people were voicing against Bush that was ok. The problem here is that for some reason ANYONE who disagrees with Obama is a racist and terrorist. A person made the statement that the government didn't realize what they had awaken, she is right and Obama knows it because he is starting to hide behind his union bed buddies. If pushed too far not even all the union bullies will be able to hold back an entire country. Common sense should tell you that you don't get your message across to the people by intimidation. You people who are so intent on open borders (Tell me again, how many of the 6.2 BILLION in the world do you want us to support in this country ?)need to write Sr.El Presidente de Mexico and tell him to use some of that oil money, Am. aid, drug money, etc. to provide schools, jobs, and health care for his people. I refuse to take on his responsibility.
