Caricatures of Romney, LaLanne, Barry and Portillo

I've been drawing caricatures for the Examiner Sunday covers since July 2008. For a bulk of the time, I was doing three each week for the newspapers in Washington, San Francisco and Baltimore. But now my days on the Sunday cover have come to a close as the newspapers will be running a more news-oriented front page. I have mixed feelings about the change. On one hand, it means I can now draw an extra editorial cartoon each week and get more sleep; on the other, I'll miss the challenge and teaching experience of the caricature process. I can walk away from the past 15 months feeling happy that I've learned so many things about drawing and painting. It's been a crash-course all along for me, but I know the skills I gained will help me in many other artistic endeavors. I do hope readers have enjoyed the artwork. The caricatures of Mitt Romney and Jack LaLanne are the final two that were published.

RE: SUGGESTION FOR A CARTOON
Nate, LOVE your cartoons and your humor...I know:>..your head is full of new drawings....but picture this...for it happens.... remember when we would take the paper to the bathroom and read the paper???..... a few days ago I took my laptop in with me to read the EXAMINER.....I began laughing, reading your cartoons, and this thought hit me.....I still giggle......"""thanks for listening".......and keep up the humor.

Sorry to see the end of this series, Nate. Your caricatures are incredible. But I'll love seeing the extra editorial cartoon per week.
Happy drawing and happy sleeping!

Greetings Nate,
You have an extraordinary gift of fusing news, reality and humor into a product. In fact, I see more "truth" in your drawings within just a few seconds, than my attempt in sorting the truth out of articles in most of the major newspapers and news media.
If you do have spare time, or want to create time to give-back to Whom was given unto you, consider producing faith-based drawings.
The earthly rewards may not be so great--but the retirement package including treasures in Heaven are out of this world!
Blessings,

I enjoy your cartoons too. Sometimes I laugh at a not so laughable situation. Better than crying
