Sharp Sticks: Local pol stakes out spot in bailout line

Fairfax County chairman Gerry Connolly has picked up his little tin cup and joined the growing bailout line:

While Virginia’s new 11th District congressman - who incidentally spent once-prosperous Fairfax County into a $500 million pothole - cools his heels behind corporate beggars from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Ford, Chrysler, GM, Bank of America, BB&T, Capital One, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, PNC, Wells Fargo, American Express, Capital One and apparently every other dunce-run corporation in America, he’ll have plenty of time to ponder this simple question:

From whom, exactly, will the federal government take the trillion dollars-plus it’s now handing out like Halloween candy?

Hi Barb: I love the way the Examiner has expanded and the increased variety: "Yays and Nays", "Crime and Punishment", editorials all great. You guys are doing a great job. I ride Metro from Glenmont to Union Station and I used to be able to finish reading by the time I got to Union Station. Now it takes a round trip to finish and I don't even pick up the Express anymore. By the way, the guy who distriubutes the paper at Glenmont is a real joy. He gets everyone smiling and even remembers the regulars. Shelley and kids are all fine and busy. I see that Fran has a big gig this weekend (lots of familiar names.) Wish I could cover it, but my new job has me chained to a desk. Hope all is well! Mike (Walker)

As always the Examiner hits the target BullsEye Gerry is leaving more than a legacy of back door voting and no citzens participation in the process. His fellow Stupervisor Bulova has run out of time this time. The Fallz Church Mess a local rag has sung the praises of a second coming for Sharon, Apparantly they believe Obama's coattails will have enough sail in the tail for a February win. That remains to be seen. However when you see the Herrity DNA you know this will be the first message to the state\ its not as Blue from the top
