The Prince

Ever since being diagnosed with a brain tumor this summer, columnist Bob Novak has kept a low profile. He originally retired his column upon hearing the bad news, but decided to re-enter the fray recently with a new column, electing to write when he can.

But the Prince of Darkness made a surprise appearance at the Army and Navy Club Monday, for a party in honor of David Smick and his new book, "The World Is Curved."

Although confined to a wheelchair, Novak was still dressed to the nines and sporting his signature ear-to-ear grin (we should note that he had ditched his signature vest).

Those stopping by to say hello: his son-in-law and Weekly Standard scribe Christopher Caldwell, Caps' owner Ted Leonsis, GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway, lobbyist Juleanna Glover, former Bush strategist Jack Oliver, the American Conservative Union's David Keene, and journalists Al Eisele, Mort Kondracke, Andrew Ferguson,  Andy Glass, Jack Limpert, Pat Buchanan, Bruce Bartlett and Fred Barnes.

We're not "confined" to wheelchairs, we "use" wheelchairs, just like you use your legs.
