Prayers are answered: prices are down

God-given gas?

Earlier this year, we told you about the "Pray at the Pump" movement, which brought prayer vigils to local gas stations, so as to petition the Almighty to bring fuel prices down. Well, now that gas has crept below $2 per gallon again, this past Wednesday and Thursday, founder Rocky Twyman and his comrades gathered again to proclaim their effort a success.

On Wednesday afternoon, they congregated at the Shell station at the corner of Upshur Street and Georgia Avenue, then again on Thanksgiving Day at the Shell on Montgomery Village Avenue in Gaithersburg. Their purpose? According to a release, it was to "thank God ... for answering their prayer during this holiday season."

That's not all: The group is attempting to build on the movement's success by beginning a "Pray Down the Greed on Wall Street" movement to help solve the economic crisis.

They've also applied to march in the upcoming inaugural parade, with Twyman saying he hopes that their success will inspire the Obama administration to use their techniques.

I think back to the predictions of $6-7 a gallon gas for the winter and it is a unreal how quick things have changed. It is also poetic justice that the madmen in Venezula, Iran etc.. are getting what they deserve. Pray works! Despite the rude remarks of the other commentors, God still loves them and will forgive their ungrateful hearts.

Prayer really works if it is in tune with God's will. I'm personally grateful he saw it fit to lower prices. It's been a relief for me. Those who mock God do so at their own peril.

I wouldn't want Obamas techniques any where near me. I like freedom to much.

Dolts. God doesn't answer prayers asking for an end to famine, disease and war, but he'll lower the price of gas if you ask? If he could turn water into wine you'd think he could turn some of it into gasoline instead.

Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barak Hussein Obama = The REPO Team! Alwo I do not want to leave out the other clowns like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Rangel, Paulson, Bernanke, and the growing list of liars, idiots, & theives from wall Sreet. 99% of the politicians in side the beltway are liars, crooks, and generally not good for America. They need to stop screwing around and get back to the basics of what America is suppose to be about.

Yeah. Its called deflation morons! The price of oil is traded on speculation about what it will be worth in the future. When a refinery is set to shut down for maintenance or a middle east dictator starts causing problems the price goes up. Here is the problem kids. Many in the know say it is declining because speculators don't think that everyday people will be able to afford to fill their tanks no matter the price due to continuing job losses and the credit problems in this country. Imagine that. So broke you can't even afford cheap gas.

It's funny that I don't recall these people being called "morons" when gas was 4.00 a gallon. Personally I'm grateful and will thank God for any blessing that comes my way.
