Sisters, Reps. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., left, and Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif, pose during a re-enactment of their swearing-in ceremony on Capitol Hill in Washington, Jan. 4, 2007. In their new book, written with co-author Richard Buskin, the sisters alternate telling their stories, each in her own voice.

With six Latinas currently representing districts in California, why do none represent Texas, which has a similarly large Hispanic population? Let California Rep. Loretta Sanchez explain.

"There's something in the water," Loretta told listeners at the National Press Club Monday night, as she and her sister Linda discussed their new book, "Dream in Color: How the Sánchez Sisters Are Making History in Congress."

So would it intimidate her to run there? "Absolutely [not]," said Loretta. "I could get elected in Texas, I could be senator there. … But then I'd have to live there."
