Biden's popularity plunges; lower than Cheney's

By: Byron York

Vice President Joe Biden's favorable rating has fallen to 42 percent in a new Gallup poll, down from a high of 59 percent just after last year's election. Biden's unfavorable rating in the new poll is 40 percent, up from 29 percent last November. (Eighteen percent of those surveyed say they have no opinion of Biden.)

Biden's average favorable rating during his time in office so far is 45 percent -- well below the average 65 percent favorable rating for Vice President Dick Cheney during Cheney's first year in office. Vice President Al Gore's favorable rating during his first year, 55 percent, was also higher than Biden's. (Gallup did not measure vice presidential popularity before Gore.)

Biden's rating has fallen most dramatically among independents. Last November, 55 percent of them had a favorable impression of Biden. Now, it's 32 percent. Biden's favorable rating among Democrats is 73 percent, down from 88 percent last December, and among Republicans it is 18 percent, down from 33 percent last year.

Finally, there is a greater gap between Biden's favorable rating and President Obama's than there was between Cheney and President George W. Bush and Gore and President Bill Clinton. Biden's 45 percent average favorable rating this year is well below Obama's average of 63 percent. Cheney's 65 percent average was near Bush's average of 69 percent, and Gore's 55 percent rating was close to Clinton's average of 57 percent.

There are still that many who haven't figured out that Biden is an unqualified loom? Amazing! Don't mess with Joe, because he's messed up enough already.

For the life of me I do not understand why Obama chose Biden as his running mate. It made no sense then; it makes no sense now.

Foreign policy heft? Biden? Not then, not now.

Biden is an empty suit. His numbers are falling as people realize he brings nothing to the table.

Am I the only one that is disturbed that this guy's opinion is being respected in Afghanistan more than Petreus (or Betray Us if you are a NY Times/MoveOn. org reader) and McChrystal?

Lets quote what he say:
"I have not bent the law, but I have let imagination take hold in some places where I think it's consistent with the spirit of the law. … Is that the best way of saying that? Yes, … I should stop."

Sure he qualify like any idiot in senate. When something actually productive came out from any house? He rather typical. Know we know why country in such mess. Didn't democrats created community reinvestment act and started subprime? Same incompetence, they all like that. When they compare internet with dump track. You know we are scrude.

People are begining to see what a complete idiot he is. America could not ever be in worst shape than they are now with leadership. Who wants Obama as president? Over 50% saqy no way and yet if he were removed who in the hell would want Biden or Pelosi running our country. We as americans could sure use some help.

Biden said it himself...Hillary is more qaulified than him... but Bidens best comment was that "Obama is clean. "" Did he not think that blacks take baths ?? Of course the Obama -loving press never made an issue of that comment but if Cheney had said that WOW...they'd be gunning for him. As long as Biden keeps spewing stupidity like "the Stimulus is working and we have saved jobs." his ratings will continue to fall and no amount of back room deals is going to get his son elected in Delaware. Bumbling Joe- lives up to his reputation daily !!!! But he does make the perfect lapdog for Mr Obama - the "clean" one.

Biden, the perfect VP for a party that wants subsities for all, report out just today that AM-TRAC loses 32.00 for every passenger ride.....Biden rode AM-TRAC to DC every day he was in the Senate, seems if it was costing the taxpayer $32.00 per day for his transportation he needs to go back and ajust his tax returns for unreported income.

Gee, too bad folks didn't recognize how messed up this guy was BEFORE they put him second in line to the White House. Ah well, at least they can say they "made history" with their votes. They fell for the biggest bait and switch in U.S. history.

Oh and this should give the libs some relief. It should make it very clear NO ONE wants a President Biden therefore their Golden God Obama is safe, at least from us. As to his own stupidity, ain't nothing gonna keep him safe from that.

I am coming to believe that Biden is becoming the foreign affairs expert in the White House because, because.......
- well, it's either him, Hillary or Kerry, and he has a better sense of humor and says the craziest things at the most inopportune moments;
- he is always wrong on his solutions to international problems but that opinion is taken in hindsight and he can be right tomorrow (remember, tomorrow is another day);
- there is no one else in the WH with any expertise that can be trusted (that is, no one who is clearly a crook and forget Hillary) to do what a consensus of WH opinion wants;
- they actually look up to him as the expert;
- he is acting as if people are really listening, so he is making as many gaffes as before.

Though Dick Cheney was not well liked, he did have the experience to back up his tough talk. Unforunately Joseph Biden is simply a clown masquerading as an important official. So his lower rating is expected.

So harsh remarks..
I kind of like Joe, very human type of politician. Makes you lower your shoulders. Kinda cute how he talks warm and blurps his thoughts out.
And his emotions, like the spontanious speech for his late friend Ted K., strong and deep. Good man.

For 8 years I was in agreement with Democrats that Bush was spending too much. For 8 freaking years. Now, Obama is spending too much and even spending more than Bush and the Democrats are singing a different tune now. Why was it wasteful under Bush but OK now? Democrats and Obama are the biggest jokes ever perpetrated on America.

Nobody any longer seems to remember the little bit of a tough patch that Senator Biden ran into some years back. He gave a speech. It was a good speech. Indeed, it had been a good speech the first time it had been delivered--by a British Member of Parliament. Word for word, the MP had somehow anticipated what Senator Biden was going to say a few years later.

You just can't make these things up.
