Congressman Alec Baldwin?

This is my "presidential debate" face.

It's always so hilarious and adorable when actors confuse the adulation they receive for the kind of personal consequence they equate with political power. Remember when Ben Affleck wanted to run for office? Hysterical! Now we have Alec Baldwin, sizing up his own chances and in classic pol fashion, ruling nothing out (from Playboy via Politicalwire):

Playboy: Will you run for office?

Baldwin: I'll put it this way. The desire is there; that's one component. The other component is opportunity. A law firm in a liberal Democratic bastion in Ohio state politics sent me a binder with a cover letter that read, "Mr. Baldwin, here's who we represent, the kinds of cases we handle, our credentials in Ohio state politics. We want you to move to Ohio and run for governor. We will launch your career."

Playboy: Could you live in Ohio?

Baldwin: I have sometimes thought I could move to New Jersey or Connecticut and run. I'd love to run against Joe Lieberman. I have no use for him. But it's all fantasy. I'm a carry-me-out-in-a-box New Yorker. Here, anything can happen. Who thought Eliot Spitzer would go down the way he did? Senator Hillary Clinton left to serve as secretary of state. Two of the biggest forces gone. Maybe Andrew Cuomo will run for one of their old seats. How much longer will Chuck Schumer stay as senator? After 2013 Bloomberg will be gone. What happens then?

Do I run for Congress on Long Island? What's Tim Bishop going to do? He represents my district. People get sick, die. They're offered lucrative deals and want to cash in and make money for their retirement. People misstep. Unfortunately, an opportunity for me may mean bad things for someone else. I don't wish that.

"Could you live in Ohio?" What?! Baldwin last year talked to CBS News' "60 Minutes" about his interest in animal rights, the environment and the arts. Baldwin told Morley Safer that the whole thing about him promising to leave the country if former President Bush won the election was all a big misunderstanding. What he said was that it might be a good time to leave the country. Parsing! He's off to a strong start.

These Hollywood narcisists, they are always in someone else's bed, why not become a politician and get in someone's pants (for the wallet) Can they handle the lack of applause?

Baldwin has that typical Hollywood personality, the one that tricks these actor-types into thinking that they're popularity has something to do with them personally. In fact, these folks pretend for a living, and that's what people find entertaining. Their role playing is even written for them by someone else... it's not really them at all. So when they open their mouths on the public stage, and proceed to articulate what little they actually know about real life, it usually isn't enough to garner support for elected office. Baldwin is one of these people. In fact this guy's got a huge chip on his shoulder to boot so I wouldn't worry too much about his political career moving any mountains!

He should look at Reagan and Arnold to see what it is like to confuse reality with a movie script. There are no second takes in politics. Ronny and Arnold, two great political failures and third rate actors.

Let me be the first to volunteer to "carry him out in a box", the sooner the better. I's even settle for carrying Alec's tounge in a box! Then the people of the United States, and the world for that matter, wouldn't have to listen to this narcistic doofus anymore. Bassinger figured that out a long time ago. Maybe we could "Stone Alec to death" as he wanted to do to Henry Hyde D. Illinois.

Baldwin in Congress? Hah! That would never happen. Next thing I know, Al Franken will be considered viable for the Senate... Jules, I've asked you many times before so I'll ask you again...When are you going to get yourself booked on Red Eye? It's the perfect show for you.

Like the rest of Hollywood's liberal elite(?), Alec Baldwin is a clueless twit who is barely responsible enough to manage his own assets let alone those of American taxpayers . He's so far removed from reality that he's better qualified to represent a congressional district on Mars than within the borders of The United States . This country has enough idiots in positions of responsiblity . We don't need to compound the problem by making Alec Baldwin part of an already unworkable equation .

Alec Baldwin doesn't give a rats behind about the well being of Ohio... He only cares about being in the spot light and furthering his own agenda. Don’t even think about it Baldwin, you are no Ronald Regan.
