House liberals' wish list for government health plan: no citizenship requirements, triggers or opt outs and more subsidies

The most liberal factions of the House sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, telling her that the House health care bill must strengthened to ensure the government-run insurance plan is not subjected to triggers or an "opt out" mechanism.

The letter was signed by the chairs of the Progressive, Black, Hispanic, and Asian-Pacific Islander caucuses, whose combined membership is more than 100 members of the 256-member Democratic caucus.

The group is also demanding language be added to the bill that would ensure subsidies are great enough to help those who can't afford insurance and they want a provision added to guarantee that no citizenship or residency verification is required for purchase of insurance in the health Insurance exchange that would be created under the House bill.

Most of the demands in the letter directly conflict with the dominant Senate bill, which allows states to opt out of the public option and bans illegal immigrants from buying insurance included in the government exchanges.

The liberal faction did not threaten to oppose the bill, but they might try to block a House-Senate compromise bill, which will likely have some kind of opt out or trigger provision.

The House is on target to vote on a health care bill this week.

all of this complete socialist garbage of a a power and money grab - to what? I thought this all started to increase the percentage of insured Americans a mere 6%-7%.
Financials, autos, student loans... next is big pharma and big oil.
Their game plan is simple. And even Hugo and Fidel must be blushing...

Where does all this end? With the United States declaring bankruptcy? Now we read that the Pelosi bill will cost $1.2 trillion instead of the $800 billion advertised by Madam Speaker. Somehow we must stop this madness. This administration is working non-stop to implement a socialist agenda designed sorely to control our lives from cradle to grave. This must be allowed to happen. Vote in 2010 and 2012. It's time to drain the swamp.

Well said Ggordon. People don't realize that all these policies are in the "Socialist/Communist Instruction Manual for Power Grabbing".

Why do we have Asian, Hispanic, etc caucus'? There should be an "American Caucus" and that's all!

As I told Bush when he wanted amnesty for illegals, work for all Americans and stop working for certain races!

I remember Tom Tancredo was opposed to all these "race based caucus' and tried to join one of them....they told him NO!

Come on people, stop seperating yourselves from America, and drop the hyphenated American terms as well as these caucus'.

The elite in Washington have already broken the country...now they want to take anything that is left and give it to non-citizens!

It defies common sense!

One thing we can do is meet Michele Buchmann on the Capitol steps for the rally and press release at noon on Tuesday. She's going to take us inside to talk to our Reps.

If you can't go to DC, go to the local office of your rep and tell him you want him to vote "no" on Pelosi's bill and to do anything he has to do to stop it from passing. The Reps will be in DC, but their office staff will tell them that people came in. It's up to us to stop this power grab.

I'll be in DC on Thursday!

If you are quoting Bachmann and Tancredo, you are nuts. Incidentally, you forgot to include "SIEG HEIL!" at the end of your screeds.
