Now that they passed it, will Dems survive 2010?

Based on the House vote on health care, which seats are possible pick-ups for Republicans? One place to look would be seats in districts where Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., received more than 50 percent of the vote in the 2008 presidential election. Thirty-one Democrats came from such districts, feeling enough pressure from constituents to vote against the bill.

Sixteen Democrats, however, come from McCain districts, and still voted for the bill. They are listed below by district and last name as well as the percentage of their voters that went for McCain:

WV-01 Mollohan   57

WV-03 Rahall        56

AR-02 Snyder        54

AZ-01 Kirkpatrick 54

PA-10 Carney        54

ND-AL Pomeroy    53

SC-05 Spratt          53

AZ-05 Mitchell       52

AZ-08 Giffords       52

OH-18 Space         52

IN-08 Ellsworth      51

VA-05 Perriello      51

CO-03 Salazar       50

IN-09 Hill               50

OH-06 Wilson       50

PA-12 Murtha       50

Worth noting is the freshmen (who are both in itals and underlined), as well as those who've already finished a term (who are in itals only).

Those from pro-McCain districts who joined Republicans in voting against the bill are below:

MS-04 Taylor         67

TX-17 Edwards      67

OK-02 Boren         66

TN-04 Davis          64

AL-02 Bright          63

ID-01 Minnick        62

MS-01 Childers      62

TN-06 Gordon       62

AL-05 Griffith         61

LA-03 Melancon    61

MO-04 Skelton      61

AR-01 Berry          59

VA-09 Boucher      59

AR-04 Ross           58

MD-01 Kratovil     58

UT-02 Matheson    57

GA-08 Marshall     56

TN-08 Tanner        56

KY-06 Chandler    55

PA-04 Altmire        55

FL-02 Boyd           54

NC-07 McIntyre    52

NC-11 Shuler         52

FL-24 Kosmas       51

NY-13 McMahon  51

NY-29 Massa        51

PA-17 Holden        51

CO-04 Markey      50

Thanks to RedElephant for providing a good list of pro-McCain seats.

Guaranteed, these demratz that voted against the bill ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED!! The goal was to get the votes, and Pelosi already had worked the "deal". Next big vote..."climate crap" Pelosi will 'shuffle' her bluedog lemmings but the result will be the same...arrogance..Americas morons were allowed to vote in 2008...

Berry voted yes, not no. So there's 17 from McCain districts that voted yes, and maybe more. Also, Herseth-Sandlin is from South Dakota (which McCain obviously carried) and she voted against the bill. Those were the only mistakes I caught at first glance.

Really, you have to laugh at the brazen insanity of the Democrats in passing this bill. The state of the nation's finances are atrocious. If the U.S. was a corporation, we would have filed for bankruptcy protection a long time ago. A $12 trillion national debt and climbing fast; eroding value of the U.S. dollar; $60 trillion in unfunded Medicare/SS liabilities. Yet, before dealing with this titanic mess, the Dems see fit to pass a new, massive entitlement that wille exacerbate these very problems. That is the very definition of insanity.

Saturday morning Gov. Barbour gave the GOP radio address. He gave the wrong speech. He should have threatened - a la this article. Instead, he gave a "We're right. We're going down with the ship." speech. http://memeticsmarketing.blogspot.com

hellloooo??? I hope the Republican national "leadership" slams this hard. I am not sure they will - they spend too much time believing the notion they have to move to the middle. Great to see they are taking advice from the press.
They should be pouncing on a few very specific elements - and threaten lawsuits on the constitutionality of many aspects of these bills.
This is not just unconstitutional and "unAmerican", it is ANTI-Constitutional and ANTI-American.

You missed Marion Berry of Arkansas district #1. He voted yes, but McCain carried all of Arkansas' districts. I understand he cast the deciding vote. He must not plan to run in 2010.

This country's leadership has gone CRAZY.The entire Congress needs to be FIRED. There is NO MONEY to pay for any kind of health reform, let's get people WORKING AGAIN(like my husband). I would go to Washington to protest but cannnot take time off from work to do so. The Democrats are trash.

It's all psychops IMO. They lost so bad in last week's election, they needed this quick windowdressing "win" to show how powerful they still are -- but they aren't. That's reality. We're going to vote their hides OUT in 2010 and repeal this garbage, IF it even passes in the Senate -- which it won't.

We have been given a gift. A list of traitors who voted for this and a bil we can now pick apart and show to the American People (whichever ones are awake) so they fully realize what is in store for them. Allow Ms. REDdress to have her moment -- it's going to be all downhill from here on out. Just ONE MORE YEAR!

Every Republican candidate should point out that he or she is actually running against Pelosi. Even if the
dem voted against the bill, they need to be swept aside so we can save this country. Pelosi has to be stopped!

I agree with Butterflies...
It is not only time to investigate Pelosi, but all other democrats who were questioned prior to o's confirmation as to how they had verified o's eligibility! THere is no such documentation. He has one US parent NOT two as constitutionally required! What will it take to either judicially or legislatively correct this crime? I am afraid for what will hapened if there is not a correction soon.

To the demratz! Listen and listen good! You do NOT tear down a castle with a few broken windows and replace it with a shack! If, (and that's a BIG IF, we as a nation survive until 2010!),..we must take America back and if repubs do not repeal this atrocity this nation must build and elect an independent party! God bless America, again..in 2010.

Have you seen this published in any American newspapers?

Fort Hood shooting: Texas army killer linked to September 11 terrorists
Major Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.

By Philip Sherwell and Alex Spillius

Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.

Will have to do all in my power to vote out Rep. Giffords ... she just didn't get that fact that her constituents did not want this Healthcare Bill! I'm supporting now Brian Miller for Congress - Congressional District #8.

Nov 8, 2009

Mark my words. Rep. Harry Mitchell from Arizona will be voted out of office next year. Those of us who live in his district are motivated and will work as hard as we need to in order to ensure this is his last term. I even know folks who live outside of his district that are just as motivated to show him the door. Vote David Schweikert in 2010.

There are more Democrats that are from Republican leaning districts that voted for GW Bush two times but that got caught up in Obamamania.

You can only fool them once.

I am in such a district. Ed Perlmutter from Colorado's 7th Congressional District has sealed his fate. 359 days until he is voted out of office due to his health care (and Cap and Trade) vote.

Don't forget that most of the Dems (including those who voted no on healthcare) voted for the stimulus - which was full of pork and has failed to create jobs! Where has the $727 Billion gone??

Have any of the Dems spoken out against Rangel, Waters, or Murtha for ethics violations??

Speaker Pelosi promised she would post the bill for 72 hours prior to a vote on the floor; not one Dem stepped forward to hold her accountable for breaking her promise to the American people.

They don't represent us, time to vote them out!!

All Demorats and RINO Republicans are complete useful Idiots to the Communist/Union takeover of the US. They are so Naive, Stupid and drunk on their own popularity--they can't even see the sun at noonday. Until stupid people wake up and realize what Obama, the Communist czars, and the Unions are trying to do to this Republic--we are going to be Socialists! Pull your heads out of your ridiculous backsides you stupid Americans!

Pelosi's district is so liberal she will probably survive although I would love to see her bounced out & never have to see her face again. Her's Reid's & Obama, the lack of their faces in the news would please me greatly.

Anyone who votes for Pelosi to be Speaker is an enemy of sanity ,no how they voted on the healthcare or Stupak bills. "Will they vote for Pelosi?" is the only campaign slogan that ultimately matters in 2010.
