Obama approval falls below 50 percent in key demographic groups

Gallup has released its latest breakdown of the president's weekly job approval rating, and for the first time, Barack Obama's approval rating has fallen below 50 percent among some formerly-solid demographic groups.

Among men, Obama is now at 47 percent, falling from 53 percent four weeks ago. (Among women, Obama still has a narrow majority of support, at 53 percent, down from 59 percent a month ago.)

Among people who have a college degree, Obama is at 47 percent, down from 55 percent four weeks ago. Obama is also at 47 percent among people who have some college, down from 54 percent last month. The only educational group among whom Obama is still doing pretty well is people who have a college degree and have gone on to do graduate work; he's at 57 percent with them, although that's down from 62 percent four weeks ago.

Then there are the age groups. Obama is in danger of falling below 50 percent among all groups over the age of 30. He's at 51 percent with people age 30-49; 50 percent with people age 50-64; and 42 percent with people age 65 and older. Only with the 18-29 population does his support remain strong, at 62 percent (although that is down from 67 percent four weeks ago.)

Finally, Obama has fallen below 50 percent with people who make between $60,000 and $90,000 a year; he's at 45 percent, down from 53 percent four weeks ago. He is at 46 percent with people who make more than $90,000 a year, down from 53 percent four weeks ago. He's at 52 percent among people who make between $24,000 and $60,000 a year. Only among those who make less than $24,000 annually does his support remain strong, at 61 percent -- nearly unchanged from a month ago.

Of course, Obama was already under 50 percent among other groups: political independents, southerners, whites. But the new numbers show more slippage virtually across the board.

Sinking numbers. All new President have sinking numbers around this time. All new Presidents have short honeymoons. Obama is no different. The only problem is we have short memories. Obama is at 51 on Gallup. On this day, Bush was at 53, Clinton was at 44 and HW Bush was at 69 and Reagan was at 57 and Carter was 66. I guess we should panic.

I love your delight in the ratings and of course using the Conservative Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. I will use Gallop for this study.

On July 30 to August 3 here are the Presidential Daily Tracking Poll for the following Presidents:

Richard Nixon - 58
Gerald Ford - 48
Jimmy Carter - 60
Ronald Reagan - 60
G H Bush - 66
G. W. Bush - 55
Bill Clinton - 41
LBJ - 65
and
Barrack Obama - 52

So, I know you are hoping for failure but as you can see, there is no way to predict what will happen.

Care to mention the polls on Saint Sarah Palin?

I don't want our government to fail but with Obama in power and advisors like Mark Lloyd, Diversity Officer of the FCC, Van Jones, Green Jobs Adviser, and The Attorney Gereral, Eric Holder in the White House, what do you expect? Check out their history for yourself,
you might be surprised at what you find.

This President has lost credibility due to his radicalism and the radicals the permeate his Administration and due to his wasteful, inefficient, spendthrift ways that are doing enormous damage to America's future economic and fiscal prospects. Perhaps, the citizenry are awaking to this.

It doesn't take long for Obama's veneer to wear off. His bankrupt policies and telepromter finger-waving have worn thin to those of us with more intelligent and deeper thought patterns than those of the Tweet crowd. From the pitiful comments of that same shallow and loony left crew who happened to wander into this article it appears they cannot see beyond their keypads.

I am among those who no longer approve of Obama overall, but please keep in mind, those of you who are criticizing his spending policies, that autonomous injections of government spending during periods of recession is a course of action recommended by nearly every economist in the profession. Bush did it. Obama is doing it. It's kept us out of a another Great Depression. The trick is to keep it temporary and scale it back during the recovery cycle. To do this, support a fiscal conservative in the next election; someone like George H. Bush, or post-'94 Bill Clinton...or maybe that will end up being Obama, it's just too early to tell folks. For those of you engaging in name calling, please remember you are contributing to the deterioration of public discussion and debate, hurting our country, and disgracing your own party.
