Obama on Islam -- then and now

As Barack Obama sends his message to the Muslim world, it's fascinating to compare his statements, and those of his staff, with things he said during the presidential campaign.  In his speech this morning, he said:

I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.

While the president was a little vague about his father's religion, in a briefing before the speech, national security aide Denis McDonough was a bit more explicit:

I think the fact is, that the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans [are] a key part of Illinois and Chicago.

Contrast those statements to remarks Obama made to a Jewish organization in Cleveland in February 2008:

My grandfather, who was Kenyan, converted to Christianity, then converted to Islam. My father never practiced; he was basically agnostic. So, other than my name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for four years when I was a child, I have very little connection to the Islamic religion.

As usual Obama changes his rhetoric to meet the situation, to make himself what ever propitious.

Question of whether communists and Muslims can co-exist --- Hitler and Stalin accepted coverts from one another becuase both camps were totalitarian, i.e.: ideologically they were joined at the hip --- but both camps were suspicious of "useful idiot" converts --- like the skulls full of mush indoctrinated in American public schools and colleges. The communists and the Muslims are united in a murderous disdain for the perfectly natural and universally valid human rights of life, liberty, private property, and pursuit of personal happiness.

"As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith" Barry in Cairo One hesitates to ask--were these Muslims born and bred or converts? Because, if the latter, why were they not able to find dignity and peace OUTSIDE their Muslim faith? Is Barry suggesting that one needs faith, any faith, to find dignity and peace?

What nobody seems to understand is that, according to the Koran, it is permitted to lie to non-believers if it benefits the objectives of the faith. Unlike most Christians, most Muslims actually read their book and we need to read it as well. It also wouldn't hurt if some Christians read the Bible now and again--there's some good stuff in there. I find it distressing that many people are encouraged by statements that Muslims "believe in" Jesus, Mary, Abraham, etc. Satan believes in Jesus and Jesus believes in Satan, so what does that have to do with anything? Think also on what happens to Muslims who convert to another religion. Strange that doesn't seem to bother any of Obama's family, or any other Muslims for that matter.

I spent a lot of time in Saudi as a USAF Medical officer. I have had a first hand look at Islam as it is practiced there. I saw people being beaten because they did not fall down and pray on cue in the markets by the religious police. An American ER doc was seeing a lot of broken ankles in young foreign national girls. Turns out they came there as domestics and were cut off from their families and were essentially slaves in the villas. Some were being raped and beaten. They were breaking their ankles jumping from the high walls of the villas trying to escape.. of course they are "infidels" so all is blessed by "Allah". This was the tip of the iceberg. Chop Chop Square is Barbaric !!! There is no such thing as EXTREME Islam because the CENTRAL teachings of the Quran ( child brides , honor killings etc ) are extreme by western standards.

Islam is the #1 threat to western civilization today. Barak Obama, whatever religion he practices, is soft on Islam. Palin for President.

You might be a progressive if you make a statement and have to tell everyone later what you "really" meant You might be a progressive if you see a video and can't tell whether its torture or a college hazing Whats the difference between college hazing and waterboarding? People have actually died from hazings You might be a progressive if you can say "I want to the government to raise my taxes" and keep a straight face A progressive locked the keys in his car, it took him 3 days to get his family out How many progressives does it take to screw in a light bulb? Get It????????
