One Blue Dog jumps away from Pelosi bill

Rep. Bobby Bright, D-Ala., has posted a statement on his website about the $1.05 trillion House Health Care Reform Bill, saying he can't back the legislation because it creates a government option and could hurt small businesses.

In my story today, I pointed out that many Blue Dogs are undecided, and listed Bright. But Bright, a vulnerable freshman from a Republican-leaning district, has made up his mind.

Here's Bright's statement:

Where I Stand on Health Care Legislation:

The health care bill released today does not make enough significant changes to earn my support. From the beginning of this debate, I have been opposed to the government option and any legislation that puts additional burdens on our small businesses and tax-paying citizens. H.R. 3962 contains a government option and surcharges and mandates on small businesses and individuals. People and small businesses across the country are struggling to make ends meet and this is no time to place additional burdens on them.

Rep. Bright, thank You! It is an abomination what politicians are doing to us now! Spending us into disaster, taxing us for everything, to fund more spending!

Where are the jobs??????

I'm beginning to believe our elite politicians want the USA to be a 3rd world country!

I agree totally........I just wish you guys would get your facts straight. What we're getting taxed for is the Trillion Dollar War you guys no doubt supported. What we're not going to getting taxed for is that public option. The US is most like a third world country in terms of the way it does NOT provide health care.
