When Beltway Confidential wins the Pulitzer for its incisive political content, we like to hope that a majority of Americans will agree it was well deserved. While we await that happy day, a new poll by USA Today and Gallup finds 61 percent of Americans believe President Obama did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. Thirty-five percent said he did.

Now, that smarts! Asked if they were personally glad Obama won the award, 46 percent said they were, and 47 percent said they were not.

This poll signals that officially, the entire universe has now popped off on Obama's surprise Nobel win. Among those heard from: Virginia AG candidate Ken Cuccinelli ("a joke"), Gerrard Gomes, principal of Julien Day School in Kolkata, India (a "political ploy"), Bono, of course ("a force for peace and prosperity")  Trinidad and Tobago, generally ("an excellent choice"), and finally -- a representative sample of Americans.

Obama in December heads to Oslo to collect his trophy.

Jeez, 61% of americans are racists and/or birthers? Who knew? I bet they prolly rely on that non-news network FNC for their news. How un-American. What's got in to you lately, Jules? All these posts? It's like the old days.

Obama's selection as a Nobel Peace Prize winner has further diminish the prestige of that award. It is an insult to those that have worked for peace instead of talking about it.
