Palin's resignation

By: David Freddoso

I am inclined to believe Andrea Mitchell's reporting from yesterday afternoon -- that Sarah Palin is out of politics for good. That's the only reasonable explanation for what she's done. It is very difficult to accept the notion that this is being done to further some long-term strategy.

If Palin is resigning because of the pressure that public life and the endless, frivolous complaints have put on her and her family, that's respectable. If she's stepping down to avoid an impending scandal, then it's understandable.

If Sarah Palin thinks she can quit less than three years into her governorship in order to run for president, that's just crazy. Whatever other benefits this move brings, it means that she will probably never hold elected office again. And Palin probably understands this. Her announcement was carefully timed for a news-dump day and hour, for a weekend when no one will be watching the Sunday political shows.

Look, how about doing a little reading... i.e her comment today she had been planning this for months... the commentary that this places her pick for next Governor in place to keep her ideas on track in Alaska and the fact she will now hit the lower 48 and kick Democrat ass.

Has anyone considered the very real possibilty, given her age, that Gov.Palin may have received a diagnosis of cancer in some form. And yet, her detractors so gleeful in any misstep she or her family ,has made or might make in living their lives ,absolutely sickens me.If the worst scenario (catastrophic illness)is the reason for her resignation , will that satiate the harpies among you?

I would say that Sarah has just plain grown tired of all the microscopic examination she has undergone. I do not blame her for her decision. If she chooses to run for a national office I will support her!

I'll bet Sarah Palin has a lucrative job offer to be a talk show host or even a rival to Rush Limbaugh. Also there's the 7 figure book deal. She'll make more money than servng as Gov of Alaska. Also, it could provide the "First Dude" and unwed-mom daughter Bristol with jobs. She can hire them. Sarah is not finished, not by a long shot. She just realizes its time to move on. Don't like her, never did and never will. I feel sorry for the staffers, supporters and all those who worked 24/7 to get her elected as Alaska's Governor.

I hope she works to see the US gets access to Alaska's natural resources, some which are trying to deny us!

Also, the MSM should report on those web sites, that think it is funny to distort pictures of her son Trig...the HuffPo had a horrible article about him, till they got so many complaints, they took it down...those revolting pictures are still on many sites though.

Freddosso just equated not holding elected office as being out of politics. Those are not equivalent.
