UPDATE: Obama caught in Pinocchio moment

By: Barbara Hollingsworth

Last week, I wondered whether President Obama was telling a whopper during a conference call on August 19 when he dismissed as “fabrications” charges by the National Right to Life Committee and others that a White House-backed health reform bill contained government subsidies for abortion.

According to the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s FactCheck.org, it was President Obama who was not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth:

“Despite what Obama said, the House bill would allow abortions to be covered by a federal plan and by federally subsidized private plans.” Here’s the link: http://factcheck.org/2009/08/abortion-which-side-is-fabricating/

NRLC’s detailed analysis can be found here: http://www.nrlc.org/AHC/HR3200NRLCfactsheet.pdf

Sounds like another so called reporter hammering the prez instead of just unbiased news. All the articles he has put up so far are biased........ this is news?

A sad day when reportingis no longer unbiased... I would be ashamed. This paper is not unbiased nor worth reading any longer. REAL REPORTING IS UNBIASED.

Seems that Obama would be aware of that, since he's been 100% pro-choice right down the line and, aside from how we're going to pay for this out-of-control spending, that's been the hottest issue of the legislation.

It amazes me how "1day" and "me" have forgotten about the days, weeks and months and years that the press hammered President Bush. He couldn't sneeze without a negative comment or article written about him. Grow up and learn to take your medicine.

1Day, Joe. This is an opinion piece. Didn't you notice?

Of course the leftist media mixed opinion with news ALL THE TIME.

Instead of calling a reporter "biased", why don't you point out any facts that are incorrect? That would put some weight behind 1day and me's comments.
I don't see any, and obviously neither do they.

Socialists are invincibly ignorant

The Neo-Con Examiner - the Republican propaganda rag free of charge to all. Fair and balance I think not.

If Obama misstated the truth, I guess that gives him something in common with Bush and Cheney, doesn't it? After all, they were proved liars time and time again.

Interesting that when the left criticized Bush they were called traitors. Should the right be called traitors for ruthless, partisan criticism of Obama?

Hypocrisy abounds in America on both sides of the spectrum.

They just print negative items about the president. They want him to fail. When you have no ideas and are out of power, this is what you do.

You don't think it is news when Obama is caught lying? Well, maybe you're right. It is not news when dog bites man.

It is no longer "news" when Obama lies. He does it continually, being absolutely incapable of telling the truth.

Factcheck.org is lieing like a RUG.

ggordon

If he was not lying, he is very much out of touch with the details of the plan. Like many criticisms of the bill - many direct to specific provisions - circumstances created by the bill lead only to certain (wanted by the authors) conclusions. For example, the bill sets up the circumstances for competition to go away in insurance markets, and for the eventual coverage of most Americans by the government plan. If you do not recognize this, you have not looked at the bill and/or in denial. The coverage of illegal aliens is another of the contentions of critics. Read the bill... it is the only logical conclusion by circumstance that they would be covered.
Back to the point - it is Obama's nature to try and outsmart people - and he's not that bright - or just lie.

Obama is very thin skinned, and we are seeing right through him.

My "Friends",as far as illegals go, Can you spell emergency room? Illegals and all of the rest of the uninsured meet at the same place at the same time. Guess where?? The emergency room. There but by the Grace of God go you and your family. As long as your luck holds up you won't have to practice compassion, but who knows, some day it may be your turn at the mercy of the emergency room.

Henry

Emergency Rooms, begrudgely paid for the Tax Payers of America, of whom very few are willing to submit their fair share of Tax's. There are too many so called conservitives who don't want to pay there fair share and many don't. Where would America be if no body payed tax's?? Use your imagination.
