I'm not sure who "us" is in this article.
I do know that current policies favor some Americans much more than they favor others. Specifically, they favor the owners of the resources most of all.

The democrats "energy policy" has for years been geared toward taxation, and social manipulation by policy. It has had nothing to do with developing energy sources - at least none of any meaningful quantity. Ethonol? joke- drove up food prices and caused problems because of moisture...
It is about control. If it were really and "energy policy", we would be building nukes - the safest and cleanest energy - and most efficient, developing gas reserves, developing clean coal power etc.
This is about social manipulation - socialist and marxist style.

QUoting:
"current policies favor some Americans...the owners of the resources most of all."
Commenting:
On land the mineral rights owner gets from 1/8 to 1/4. The rest (after taxes) goes to the oil company that spent millions to find and drill and pump it.
The offshore oil belongs to YOU and ME, the American taxpayers and we get the same kind of cut.
Unfortunately, it has already been spent by an administration that makes drunken sailors fiscal conservatives by comparison.

What policy is not guided, structured, and "pushed as urgent" that is not based on false/misleading facts: Energy, Health care and providers, his version/views on capitalism, reputable vote counts and an overall shadow of honesty. Look at his history of promoting(via ACORN) skewed voting practices, investigating naysayers of his goals and political restructuring of America. His political credibility is long been down the drain. Oil? He could not care less about the increased production of oil and gas in the country.

Obammie is failing, failing big. He's historically illiterate and very small minded in relation to the size of the task.
