Sports writers who never have a harsh word for the local team are called "homers," but one doesn't have to look far in the news sections or broadcasts of the mainstream media to realize that this problem starts on the front page.

Take, for example, these three significant stories that got little or no play in The Washington Post, The New York Times or the network news outlets.

First, remember that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) "report" warning of the danger of domestic terrorist attacks by right-wing extremists? With only a few exceptions, major mainstream media outlets uncritically repeated the report's assertions, which were allegedly based on credible intelligence from official sources.

It was left to a conservative non-profit, Americans for Limited Government (ALG), to file a Freedom of Information Act request for the documentation used by DHS to prepare the report. And guess what ALG found? Instead of intelligence reports, DHS used unverified allegations and speculations it found on the internet.

DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano's researchers liked one particularly apocalyptic web site so much that they cited it 11 times in their report. This site - called "What It Means" - often warns that the world is about to end, as with this recent headline: "Deaith Star Pandemic of 2009-2012: End of Age Begins."

Sleep tight tonight, folks, because your government knows what it all means.

Then there is the rebellion exploding within the ranks of AARP, the 40-million member Goliath of Washington lobbying on behalf of more government programs and spending. You might never know it from reading the Post or Times, but the liberal Democrats who run AARP's Washington office have gotten themselves into one heck of a mess.

They've spent millions of dollars collected from their members in an online, print and broadcast propaganda campaign for a government-run health care system - even as they hypocritically deny having endorsed any specific legislation in Congress.

But judging by the latest Gallup poll, most AARP members want no part of Obamacare or any other health care "reform" that takes billions of dollars away from Medicare and denies seniors the right to keep their doctors and their private health insurance.

Seniors aren't stupid and they recognize the crock they're getting from AARP's Washington leaders. That's why legions of them have cancelled their AARP memberships in recent months. When I asked AARP's Drew Nannis last week how many cancellations have been received, he promised to get right back to me. I'm not holding my breath.

Finally, did you know a government commission on civil rights is threatening to investigate the U.S. Department of Justice for its failure to prosecute what must be the most blatant violation of voting rights since Sheriff Bull Connor last unleashed his water hoses and dogs?

Remember the YouTube video of two New Black Panther Party members blocking people from entering a Philadelphia polling place last November? Both of the Panthers were dressed in paramilitary outfits and one of them carried a night stick. Both flung repeated racial slurs at people they were clearly intimidating.

Attorney General Eric Holder's Justice Department declined to prosecute the Panthers, in part because the defendants failed to respond to the charges brought against them and out of concern for their freedom of speech!

As The Washington Times reported last week, members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights were dumb-founded by the Justice decision not to prosecute. A search of the Post and New York Times archives turned up no coverage or commentary on this controversy in the past month.

Each of these three stories provided valuable information and insight that contradict ed the conventional wisdom being continually spouted in Congress and the White House, on college campuses, throughout the non-profit activism community, and across the mainstream media.

In Washington, government is the home team and media's homers aren't going to report stories that make the home team look bad.

So, which is worse... how and what they DO report, or what they don't report?
My high school government class teacher gave us a catch phrase - "The masses are asses". Frankly, until the masses recognize and rebel against such manipulation, I have to agree with him.

And it also makes me wonder about the story regarding General Electric and certain electronic parts that the FBI have in IED's that have killed and maimed many of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. What if the investigation reveals these are traceable to GE? Will Holder's Justice Department prosecute GE and their executives for selling products to firms that then deal them to Iran?

Thank you for this - hope it gets widely disseminated. The media are in the tnak for Obama and the Dems and are blinded by their belief that they are cooler and smarter than everyone else. Just galling.

As Rush said, they got him elected and now he is too big to fail. They will never admit to their treachery. It simply will not happen, no matter how bad things get, because they were complicit in his election. When Bill Clinton said "This is the biggest fairy tale I have ever seen" he meant the idea of an unknown no-name Senator having served only 2 years ascending to the Presidency Of The United States.

The media did it, and they will never reverse themselves.

The America most of us grew up in suffered a long, slow death and eventually passed away a long time ago. This land is now run by groups and individuals who just as soon spit on our Founders and their ideals then to honor and abide by the written words of the US Constitution.

Everyone has to remember what is happening when the elections take place. All incumbents must be voted out to show these idiots are fed up and we will not stand for it anymore. Then is 2012, the next group of idiots must be voted out. Show them that they better start representing us or they will be fired (voted out). It may take a couple of elections, but we cannot afford to let what is happening to this great country continue.

Look at what's staring us in the face:

1. Banking and auto industry nationalization

2. Energy tax and control

3. Health care nationalization

4. Assault on free speech (Fairness doctrine, state run media)

While not paranoid, I have to admit the government is looking to take control over all aspects of our day to day lives. The Constitution is the only defense that we have; let's hope our judges live up to the oaths to which they swore their allegiance!

Since the presidential campaign began, the mainstream media has been fawning over their self-appointed Savior Obama. Instead of asking serious questions, they worked together to cover-up the truth and lie to the American voters to get him elected.

Most of the people are angry that what they thought was Hope and Change was really a wolf in sheep's clothing, pretending to be something he was not.

No surprise there -- the media still will not budge from their position, to show the error of their ways, because as President Obama has repeatedly said, He won the election...now get out of my way so I can push my agenda without debate to drain this country of its national heritage into a poorly run government state.

JavaJoe said:"Let's hope our judges live up to the oaths..." Why should they? It is against their immediate self interest. They will protect their government against the people. And the people will do nothing except gripe. Hope will not save us. The government will not change. We have to reject it and form a new one based on individual responsibility. What we need to do is have a second American revolution.

There is a fourth story that is missing from the main-steam media. The ObamaCare Health Care Plans claim to control costs in health care, but despite mandates for parks, streetlights and who knows what else, say nothing about Tort Reform: the single biggest contributor to health care inflation. From malpractice insurance rates to defensive medicine, the tort bar has added billions of dollars of cost to the delivery of health care. Not a word to be found to "reform" this in 2000 pages of House and Senate legislation.

You got it right. The present USG is so far from the limits of the Constitution it would be laughable, if not murderously tragic. Everybody, please read the Founding Docs and some reliable history.

Let's hope this gets around. Lots of us already know this, but you are right, it's not being reported in the msm.............and yet they wonder why they are having problems. Just how ignorant can these "smart" people be?

Another important news piece today that received little attention was the statement of the FCC's diversity chief who wants to increase radio's station's licensing fees to be equal to the stations costs. The fee would then be used fully fund NPR to provide an alternate to talk radio; i.e. conservative talk radio. Predictably, they are trying to regulate what they cannot legislate.

What puzzles me is that these media corporations are in business to satisfy thier shareholders; many are going out of business, bankruptcy, selling off assets, etc. Not a peep out of the stockholders. Surly they are not in the media bias as well?

Imagine had it been two KKK members up there with night sticks shouting racial slurs at black voters trying to intimidate them into either voting their way or not voting at all. Think those charges would have been dropped? Or even it were the exact same situation as what actually happened, except imagine Obama had been the Republican nominee, you think the charges would have been dropped? Not a chance.

Mind boggling the amount of drivel and misinformed people who are just lashing out at what they do not understand. In Missouri, we implemented tight Tort Reform, what percentage did the Health Insurance companies drop our rates by??? Well the last two years at my company they raised them by 23% each year.

Tort reform? Is that it? Mind boggling that people with more access to information than any other people on the planet; use the wrong or incomplete info to justify their positions! Problems are multi-faceted, and usually require multi-faceted solutions. Tort reform is JUST the beginning of FREE MARKET solutions to the faux healthcare/insurance crisis. (next step: maybe allowing individuals to buy across state lines), third:...?

The "New (nothing new about hate, OR intimidation) Black Panthers" thugging up the polling places, should not ONLY be arrested, but convicted and JAILED!

As a proud American of African and Native descent, I am equally proud to be a conservative thinker and "behaver" . I GUESS I'M JUST ONE OF THOSE "RIGHT - WING EXTREMISTS! Quick!! somebody "flag this for the WHITE HOUSE!

I find it hard to believe that I can buy a 529 college plan from any state in the union, yet I can't buy a health plan from those same states.

Aug 15, 2009

Oh. you mean like the sorty of how the government over the last 60 years as totally screwed up and caused massive inflationary price increases in the healthcare industry and now want to fix all of their messes by taking total control of it? Now that is the story that needs written

The name of Obama's plan to take over our healthcare should be
DEATHCARE;
DEATH TO THE UNBORN
DEATH TO SENIORS
DEATH TO LIBERTY
DEATH TO THE CONSTITUTION
DEATH TO THE USA
Kids, this is the worst time I can ever remember,Obama is ignoring and circumventing our Constitution every day!!

I'm Tired

Aug 16, 2009

Another topic NOT at the top of the page is that our elected officials from bottom to top will NOT be mandated to fall under this proposed HC plan. Why not? Good enough for the peasants, but NOT for them? C'mon press....ask EVERY politician why they aren't jumping into this program! As for the squawking about places to hold these town hall meetings? Why not utilize high school gymnasiums/auditoriums/football fields? Our taxes pay for it all, why not use them???

I'm Tired

Aug 16, 2009

2010 and 2012. Watch how your politicians are voting on the issues. Are they listening to your voice? If not, make certain that 2010 and 2012...VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE. These politicians have no problems standing up and begging for votes, but most of them run like a pack of dirty dogs when it's time for them to stand up and face their constituents. Vote them OUT!
